The Payroll Administrator will manage all aspects of payroll in a timely and accurate manner. This will include but is not limited to: Processing bi-monthly payroll, wage and hour compliance, taxation and reconciliation, “meticulous” record-keeping and excellent customer service. Our Payroll Administrator will be a positive helpful partner to both HR and Accounting and will work consistently with both departments to improve processes and ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a Payroll knowledge expert – FPC and CPP is a Plus
  • Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll related matters.
  • Manage ADP Workforce Now electronic timekeeping system and review time-sheets.
  • Calculate payable hours, LOAs, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, garnishments and other deductions.
  • Process bi-monthly payroll. 
  • Process off-cycle payments such as final checks, corrections, or supplemental pay.
  • Must be very comfortable with comprehensively auditing payroll using Excel.
  • Coordinate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.
  • Aid the accounting department on payroll items, banking issues, etc.
  • Ad hoc Projects as assigned by Payroll Manager

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working on multi-state payrolls including California.
  • Well-rounded experience in performing all aspects of payroll.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Workforce Now.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and a passion for compliance and accuracy.
  • Possesses the ability to be flexible and maintain a positive attitude
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
