About Anagram

You hear it all the time — our healthcare system is broken. But, if you’re like most people, this “brokenness” is more about the nightmare of dealing with insurance, co-pays, and collections than the actual quality of care one receives. HMO/PPO/HSA/FSA/HRA/EPO… honestly, until we built this company, we had no idea what any of these even meant! If you’re like us, you just want to know how much you are covered for, that your insurance is billed correctly and then pay your doctor for their time.

We believe that healthcare should be simple to use and easy to understand, because going to the doctor is stressful enough. We created Patch after personal experiences left us feeling completely helpless and frustrated by the difficult process to access the insurance benefits we were entitled to. We didn’t want others to feel that same pain and frustration.

Our mission is to make healthcare easy to pay for. We’ve been proving out our product, starting with the vision care market, but with thousands of providers already using our system, we’re ready to expand to the rest of the healthcare ecosystem. We’re going to make insurance as easy as using your Visa card. With a fresh Series A round, we’re looking for A+ players who want to make a lasting impact on the world.

The Role:

As the owner of People Operations, you’ll support our values and promote our company culture, as well as processes related to employee benefits, payroll, training, and related tasks. You will have the exciting and extremely impactful job of overseeing the onboarding of new talent and also flexing into the recruiting process when necessary. You’re the key to helping us stay true to our mission, culture, and values as we make a difference in healthcare.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience, with at least one in leading in-house HR/People Operations
  • Experience scaling a team anywhere from 20+
  • Has a passion for contributing to a successful organization and helping drive a strong and winning culture
  • Strong project management capability including written and verbal communication; able to present, persuade, influence and shift perspective as needed
  • Smart, quick on your feet, and looking to help our team grow and thrive
  • Strong team player - you're professional and reliable, and you know how to coax the best out of others without sacrificing quality or productivity
  • Ability to successfully coach/support employees and managers in having challenging conversations with peers, managers and direct reports
  • Has successful experience with all levels of management including remotely distributed teams; able to effectively build relationships by establishing trust, credibility and adding value quickly
  • Previous experience mentoring local and remote teams regarding HR compliant strategies to maximize performance from contractors and/or interns

You Will:

  • Own the People Ops functions of the company including but not limited to employee benefits and programs, compliance, new hire orientation, hiring & terminations, performance reviews, and payroll.
  • Own all aspects of adding new employees to our organization, including consulting with hiring managers, developing individual interview plans, and finding top talent.
  • Help strategize how to implement a talent brand initiative to attract and retain smart, motivated candidates across all departments in our organization.
  • Set the stage for how talent joins and leaves the company by managing all aspects of onboarding and offboarding.
  • Partner closely with internal leadership to develop sourcing and recruiting strategies that will work for each role given today’s complex candidate market.
  • Collaborate across the organization by providing guidance and suggestions while also remaining open to feedback and new ideas.
  • You’ll cheer, lead and champion our team members to encourage teamwork, collaboration, proactive problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Help create a curriculum and teach management training -establish best practices and hold training to help our managers improve. This would include things like implementing a manager review process, feedback best practices, employee development plans, etc.
