As part of the human resources team, the HR Generalist performs duties in the following areas: employee relations, training, administration, benefits management, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to Hawke corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all Hawke personnel; assists Head of People Ops in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Conducts payroll
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Acts as an employee relations specialist
  • Conducts new employee orientations as well as onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Leads Internship program and partners with Head of People Operations on Associate program
  • Maintains employee personnel files
  • General administration, including sending HR correspondences (e.g., promotion, transfer, salary increase letters) and policy updates to personnel
  • Continues to develop initiatives to better the employee experience
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and assists employee to process enrollment, cancellation or changes
  • Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from Namely
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in an HR related role
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Experience in the administration of HR programs, such as benefits and payroll
  • Strong experience with G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Impeccable communicative skills (written and verbal)
  • Sound judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
