Job Summary

The HR Generalist / Manager is responsible for performing all HR-related duties for The Company. This position carries out responsibilities including talent acquisition/recruitment, training and development, compensation, policies and procedures, employee relations, performance management, leave of absence, benefits administration, payroll administration, compliance, immigration/visa administration, and employee engagement programs. This person should be comfortable originating and leading Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • ​Maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. 
  • Manage employee benefits program: administration, communication, and implementation. Evaluate and select company sponsored healthcare plans 
  • Develop, revise, and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with changing and scaling company needs. Remain up to date on Federal and California employment law. 
  • Develop and manage Performance Management processes 
  • Provide coaching and counseling to all levels of employees. Act as first point of contact for all employee questions and inquiries 
  • Coach and guide managers on employment matters, including employee discipline, performance improvement plans, and employee relations issues 
  • Manage and investigate employee relations, ethics, and compliance issues 
  • Recommend and implement new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiencies within HR and the business 
  • Develop trusted relationships at all levels of the organization, while maintaining confidentiality and discretion 
  • Maintain HRIS, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Applicant Tracking and Performance Management systems. 
  • Assist in the development and mentorship of all employees & team-leaders. Core responsibilities include workforce planning, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and terminations 
  • Work with managers and employees to identify and implement learning and development opportunities 
  • Develop and implement safety and wellness initiatives
  • Other duties as required 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with entire employee life-cycle
  • Experience with benefits administration and payroll 
  • Experience with Federal and State employment laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail 
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems 
  • Project management
  • Good time management and prioritization skills 
  • Understanding of HR practices and role within an organization 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Communications, Business Admin, or other relevant area preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources HR
