TubeScience is looking for a talented HR Business Partner to join our thriving team! 

Quick ‘about us’:

We’re a data-driven video startup based in LA that’s grown to become the largest producer of video ads on paid social in the 4 years since founding. Collectively, our videos account for ~5% of all paid video views on Facebook and Instagram in North America and reach 100-200 million people per day.

What You’ll Do: 

As an HRBP, you will report to the Sr. Director, HRBP, and play a vital role on the broader People Team. Your role as an individual contributor will include close collaboration with leadership and middle management on developing talent strategies to support retention and performance management aligned to each unique discipline.  You will also play a lead role in job design, career path design, and career development across TubeScience.  

Objective: 

The People Team at TubeScience focuses on creating a sustained competitive advantage by evolving what we do in the people space (culture, leadership practices, organization, programs, etc.) into a thoughtful, integrated, low-friction “people operating system”. We want to inspire people at TubeScience to confidently take on challenging problems and allow them to push the envelope while providing what is needed to accelerate their development.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with management to develop and implement HR plans and solutions to achieve strategic business initiatives and deliver results
  • Partner with business leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment
  • Integrate career development into the broader talent management framework by working with management to understand role competencies, job design and continuously updating job descriptions as they innovate to meet business demands 
  • Assess the business unit's human resources training needs and conduct 1:1 and/or group training sessions as appropriate
  • Foster  a culture of feedback and transparent communication, reinforcing our mission,  values, ethos, and leadership principles
  • Promote a coaching approach to management to build leadership capabilities, guide them in developing their team,  address and resolve employee issues, and become strong people managers.  
  • Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues, ensuring a balance in representing all parties' interests
  • Partner with managers to retain, develop and motivate people to achieve their fullest potential
  • Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives within the client group
  • Provide compensation support, including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions, and job re-leveling
  • Review and analyze business unit data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience
  • Implement/administer/interpret corporate policies/programs/procedures
  • Provide leadership for employment practices.
  • Provide ongoing support to the leadership team on human resources related matters, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an HRBP or in similar roles within HR 
  • You are a team player, low-ego, and highly collaborative. You get energized by engaging with people, helping them grow and see them thrive
  • You are an “ innovative builder” and have a demonstrated track record and passion for bringing ideas to life and developing effective people programs from the ground up.  
  • You have a passion for job design and providing clarity to career development to support career growth for our team
  • You excel in both written and verbal communication and can transcribe conversations into project plans, recaps, and written job descriptions
  • Emotional intelligence, ability to work well in a fast-paced, iterative environment, open to changes in focus and direction
  • You can quickly establish rapport with different personalities and build and refine trusting and open partnerships with leaders and people across an organization
  • You are able to credibly consult (listen, understand, influence) with people at all levels (including senior leadership) in a quantitative, no-BS environment
  • You are a strongly structured problem solver. If you like to conceptualize problem spaces as systems and are a “model thinker” that’ll be an advantage
  • You have good analytical and quantitative skills, are comfortable using data and analytics to solve problems or substantiate your suggestions. Some statistics say standard deviations, correlations, etc. is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent or past experience working for a high growth company 
  • Experience in media or ad tech is a plus
  • PHR certification is a plus
