About the Head of Human Resources at Headspace:
Headspace is looking for a stellar Head of Human Resources, based in our Santa Monica Headquarters, reporting into the VP of People Operations.
This individual will play a vital role in ensuring we are living our vision of improving the health and happiness of the world. As our HR leader you will oversee a team of professionals in the areas of: Learning & Development, Business Partner Support, Employee Relations, Leaves, SOP, Culture, Performance Management, Compensation, Immigration, Onboarding, Diversity & Inclusion, plus all other core Human Resources related functions.
How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:
- Act as coach, mentor, strategist, trusted advisor, and expert on matters related to performance, organizational design & development, as well as all administrative HR matters
- Guide the company on all compliance, human resource activities and associated State, Federal and Local Laws (COBRA, Wage & Hour, EEOC, Workers Comp, ADA, FMLA, CFRA, etc.)
- Manage all employee software systems including HRIS, Performance Management; while continuously evaluating efficacy to ensure business needs are being met
- Help to build a strong layer of people managers that will streamline decision-making, increase empowerment and enhance innovation within the broader employee base
- Identify, develop and implement trainings that will enable employees to maximize their abilities; and teach them new ways of approaching problem solving as well as interpersonal dynamics
- Create and nurture a culture that rewards high-performance, real time feedback, transparency and engagement
- Put processes in place that allow for employees to do the best work of their careers
- Own and improve HR services, policies, and programs; as well as advise our people managers and employees on a range of Human Resources matters
- Improve and streamline departmental operations by continuously assessing policies, procedures, processes and effectiveness.
- Lead, influence, support, and facilitate organizational change and communication
- Foster an environment where conversations around Diversity & Inclusion are frequent and productive; develop and incentivize norms and behaviors that promote D&I to our employee base; work with Talent team to expand our community outreach efforts
- Work closely with other People Operations functions (Talent Acquisition, Workplace Experience and Corporate IT) as well as other cross-functional partner teams (Finance, Accounting, and Legal)

- Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, employee engagement, and employee development
- Significant global human resources management experience working for companies with rapid growth
- Strong collaboration skills to help teams achieve their goals and ability to work well with cross-functional groups
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
