WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Head of Global Compensation is responsible for the development of TTD’s Compensation strategies and philosophies as well as day to day management of global activities associated with our Compensation function. The successful candidate will develop and deliver guidance, consultation, analysis and advice on the international/local compensation plans, as well as oversight of the Compensation team. This successful candidate will be a key member of the People Operations (PO) leadership team. In addition to collaborating closely with his/her peers on the team, this leader will partner closely with other leaders of the company including the CEO, CEO, CFO, Talent Acquisition, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Accounting, Finance, Audit and IT functions. S/he will be an excellent communicator who will be called upon to build strong relationships across the organization, including Senior Business Leaders and other stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Establish short and long term strategies as well as philosophies including design of programs, policies and processes for domestic and international teams
  • Serve as internal advisor to Executive leadership and management throughout the company on compensation programs and matters
  • Help develop the overall compensation program for TTD
  • Manage the compensation team for domestic and international compensation strategies and programs including Sales, Executive and Broad-Based plans
  • Review and analyze compensation plans, programs and policies, including review of administration and compliance to programs/plans to ensure all processes are followed
  • Maintain knowledge of and analyze program trends and prevailing practices among similar organizations
  • Develop and design cash plans and oversee the Career Framework, Base Pay, the Annual Incentive Plan design, special incentive plans and Reward and Recognition plans including all stakeholders
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards and routine data/analytics needed from HR Operations
  • Ensure vendor management with systems and vendor, as well as stakeholder needs are met including quarterly operations reviews with SLA for compliance
  • Ensure plans are well designed within context of legal and tax constraints in partnership with legal
  • Foster an environment conducive to a high-performance team oriented organization
  • Lead (functional) or co-lead (corporate wide) projects that support the broader Trade Desk strategy

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

KEY COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Provide oversight of “compensation consulting” with the business and People Operations Business Partners
  • The successful candidate should have the conviction and ability to present a point of view to senior management, combined with impeccable “people skills” and a proven ability to partner well at all levels across a global organization
  • S/he should be able to define and articulate the thought processes behind recommendations and be capable of influencing key stakeholders while absorbing other points of view
  • S/he should, in a constructive and effective manner, state the business reasons behind any proposed changes to existing plan and also see, acknowledge and diplomatically debate the opposing viewpoints presented
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with multiple constituencies with different opinions and approaches. Specifically, s/he will be able to create a strategic compensation plan that satisfies the overall organization’s needs and business objectives
  • The ideal candidate will be a thought leader who is able to provide expert advice in a consultative way, and to be viewed as a value-added member of a senior leadership team. S/he will have experience working successfully with a wide variety of internal constituencies to ensure a seamless and thorough process.
  • Strong grasp of all tax, accounting and regulatory issues that pertain to executive compensation 
  • Extensive knowledge of global and local practices

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of progressive Compensation experience
  • Experience with Workday HRIS and Total Rewards a plus
  • Bachelors degree required, Masters Degree a plus
  • Strong experience building compensation programs from the ground up; experience with sales compensation plans
  • Significant leadership skills with a track record of successfully building and developing effective teams
  • Ability to build strong partnerships across the Trade Desk
  • Functions comfortably and effectively in an entrepreneurial and high growth environment
