People Generalist - Restaurant

Location: Remote

Reports to: Sr. Director, People - Restaurant

The People Generalist - Restaurant will provide operational support to our field leaders and team members, while learning and growing in the business partner space. The People Generalist - Restaurant is responsible for knowing their market, identifying trends and partnering to address root causes. This includes maintaining operational excellence in people transactions, and stewarding intake and resolution of cases related to I-9 and Leaves. This position will serve as a key partner to the People Business Partner team in order to build and execute on core People capabilities for our field teams.

We are looking for an HR leader with strong foundations in the generalist space who thrives in creating and managing HR strategies and goals and delivering results through a team. The People Generalist - Restaurant will help us advance an inclusive environment, coaching leaders through processes and procedures that support a best-in-class team member experience, while moving the needle on HR foundations to support scale, the people function strategic priorities and sg culture.

What you’ll own

  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as preparation of offer letters or employment contracts, benefits enrollment, new hire paperwork, etc.
  • Prepare and support HR business reporting to ensure key indicators of HR health are reviewed and prioritized to build and scale our field HR teams. 
  • Support the interactive process for team members and candidates in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Support the leave of absence process through intake, tracking and reporting for your respective markets. 
  • Manage the Worker's Compensation when the interactive process is included. 
  • Perform regular audits of TNCs, FNCs, expired documents, or other Equifax results + partnership with Operations team to take ownership of this process and drive for results. 
  • Partner with People Business Partners on leadership changes (talent planning, promos/demos, etc).
  • Partner with People Business Partners and Operations team to support full employee lifecycle for Field teams
  • Build and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.

What you’ll bring to the table

  • Experience working in an HR center of excellence or previous Generalist experience in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Experience creating and delivering on building HR foundation capabilities with teams. 
  • Experience with process improvement and building tools and processes for fast-changing organizations.
  • Experience leading multiple end-to-end execution of projects in all sizes. 
  • Humble and resilient leadership and collaboration should be top-notch as you’ll need to coach, develop, build trust and credibility with your cross-functional partners and the People team. 

Experience with the following systems is a huge help: ZenDesk, UltiPro, Gsuites, and Greenhouse. The ideal candidate will be able to flex between serving as a coach and player, assisting in building capabilities while meeting their team (client group) where they are at. We are building for scale, and our team must continuously flex to meet the needs of the business.

NOTE: Candidates must be willing to be available to work scheduled hours in the timezone for which they support. Restaurant experience or similar industry, supporting a variable/hourly workforce is strongly desired.
