Director, Total Rewards
As Director of Total Rewards, you will lead the development and execution of global compensation initiatives that attract, retain, and motivate top talent. You will partner with the business to appropriately structure Compensation & Benefits programs, ensure appropriate benchmarking, provide education to leadership & people managers, and ensure successful delivery of compensation & benefits-related initiatives across the company.
This job reports to the Chief People Officer and should be based in the West coast time zone.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic alignment on compensation philosophy and strategy for broad-based global compensation, tying in with the broader Total Rewards philosophy and strategy
- Direct the evaluation, development, and implementation of compensation policies and programs that support the organization’s business strategy that is also reflecting region/country-specific context
- Lead the implementation of compensation policies and programs by serving as a lead subject matter expert on compensation-related issues
- Interact with internal customers on compensation needs and interpretation and implementation of corporate compensation policies and programs to sustain employee motivation, retention and on the risks of unintended consequences of inappropriate programs
- Manage outside consultants for compensation-related initiatives such as pay parity, adhering to the budget
- Partner in the development of a brand-new job architecture and career framework
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, HRBP & Finance teams to recruit & retain top talent. Be an advisor to the committee on talent evaluation, diversity & inclusion and performance management programs.
- Build strong working relationships with the entire people team
- Provide oversight of Company’s base pay, STI and LTI programs. Build reporting and communicate with leaders, managers, and stakeholders regarding the same.
- Stay up-to-speed on critical trends & best practices in Compensation & Benefits, particularly within the tech sector and ensure appropriate application to Avant.
- Manage year-end and mid-year compensation review processes.
- Ensure continued compliance with all Federal, State, and local compensation and benefits laws.
- Manage the employee equity review and grant process
- Plan and direct the implementation and administration of all benefit plans including annual open enrollment efforts, operating procedures, and controls
- Determine and implement metrics that assess and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing rewards programs and new initiatives
Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent
- 8+ years of Compensation, Benefits, or other relevant experience, with 5+ years in a global role. Experience working for a tech or IT industry is a plus.
- Ability to analyze data and create meaningful, understandable insights and metrics
- Knowledge of compensation policies and programs and associated compliance issues
- Excellent project management, organizational, and follow-up skills necessary to prioritize and complete multiple projects and tasks and effectively handle short notice assignments
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team, conduct research, formulate conclusions, and present conclusions regarding complex business issues
- Experience working in matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders and global nuance
- Verbal, written, and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization; ability to generate concise presentation decks to communicate various compensation-related information
- Detail-oriented, laser focused, and with strong analytical and quantitative skills
- High integrity and ethics in handling confidential information
- Strong data analytics & excel skills, as well as comfort in operating within workday
- Prior experience with public company executive compensation and equity recordkeeping preferred
