We are actively seeking a Director of Technical Recruiting to focus on mentoring and building the current technical recruiting team and scaling our engineering organization.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Director of Technical Recruiting, reporting to the Head of Talent Acquisition, to be a strategic partner to the engineering org. The ideal candidate will help grow our Engineering teams. You will define and drive the strategic direction of Honey’s technical recruiting efforts by partnering closely with C-level executives and leading, mentoring, and further growing the technical recruiting team.


What you’ll do:

  • Develop a scalable, recruiting strategy for our engineering teams
  • Lead, mentor, and continue to build an already collaborative & effective technical recruiting team through support and guidance as well as subject matter expertise in the space 
  • Operate as a key talent partner to our engineering team, proactively identify trends and preemptively propose strategic shifts based on market trends and data 
  • Define consistent goals for the recruiting team and be there as a guiding team member identifying key levers where we need to pull and help guide the team in the execution
  • Craft and execute creative talent sourcing and recruiting campaigns that scale for attracting quality diverse talent 
  • 20% of the time you will proactively recruit for key leadership roles within engineering as well as recruiting talent for your team, 30% of the time you will be a mentor and people manager and 50% of the time will be strategy and planning
  • Stay connected to the competitive landscape, including compensation and employment brand trends, partner with our Director of Talent Programs on employer brand strategy across engineering
  • Define and iterate upon an interviewing and hiring process that can scale by a 3x multiplier


About you: 

  • 10+ years of recruiting experience in a similar competitive, technology-driven environment
  • 5+ years of leading, mentoring and building recruiting teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, or another related area of study
  • You’ve quickly scaled engineering organizations from 150 to 300+
  • You have a strong business sense and work proactively across engineering leadership to understand their skills gaps, potential attrition, and key leadership roles; formulating a strategy around the information gathered
  • You’ve come up with comprehensive sourcing and outreach strategies to both elevate our employer brand and build awareness within the engineering communities
  • Building trust and gaining buy-in within engineering leadership comes naturally to you and you use data to back up your proposals
  • You enjoy working in an autonomous environment where you have the flexibility and freedom to propose and implement what you see fit in order to scale an engineering org with high-quality talent
