UpKeep, an LA-based tech startup, is looking for an experienced HR Director to join our fast-growing team in beautiful Westwood, CA.

The Role: 

• Mission & Strategy: Work with the executive team to establish scalable HR policies that align with both our business goals and legal regulations. 
• Employee Relations: Foster relationships with all levels of staff, finding a thoughtful balance between advocating for staff and upholding company policy. 
• Compensation & Benefits: Analyze and improve comp and benefits packages; identify creative approaches to enhance offerings and stay competitive within the market. 
• Performance Management: Manage a company-wide performance management program that helps us reward excellence and provide transparent feedback.
• Onboarding & Training: Develop methods that ensure a positive and effective onboarding experience, and promote continuous policy training for all employees, including management. 
• Organizational Development: Offer strategic, data-driven, and forward-thinking solutions to tactical and operational issues within the organization. 

This is you: 

• 5+ years of People/HR management experience in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Experience building and scaling people operations at a company with over 50 full-time employees
• Expert-level understanding of current CA and US employment law and regulations
• Experience with HR software related to payroll, time and attendance, and benefits management.
• Excited about joining an early-stage startup and building HR processes from scratch
• Ability to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality
• Excellent communication, mediation, and interpersonal skills
