POSITION OVERVIEWThis role provides high‑visibility, on‑site HR support for the Williamsport manufacturing facility. This role serves as the accessible, day‑to‑day HR presence on the production floor—building trust, addressing questions in real time, and ensuring consistent HR service during a transition period. Responsibilities combine hands‑on HR operations (timekeeping, records, attendance/LOA, onboarding) with practical business partnership to help leaders address workforce needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFloor Presence & Employee Support (Top Priority)
- Maintain daily visibility on the production floor to proactively engage with employees and supervisors.
- Serve as an accessible, approachable HR contact for questions, concerns, and feedback.
- Surface emerging issues early and escalate appropriately to plant leadership or HR Operations.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Handle day‑to‑day employee relations concerns; assist with fact‑finding and investigations as needed.
- Document issues and corrective actions in accordance with company policy.
- Reinforce compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
HR Operations & Administration
- Support timekeeping and payroll‑related actions (e.g., rate changes, corrections) and respond to employee questions.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation; ensure data integrity.
- Evaluate and follow site HR procedures and help drive consistency in application.
Attendance & Leave of Absence (LOA) Tracking
- Monitor daily attendance, track trends, and partner with supervisors on attendance issues.
- Assist employees with LOA processes (e.g., FMLA, disability) and coordinate timely communications and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to policy and legal requirements related to time away from work.
HR Metrics & Reporting
- Complete routine site‑level HR reporting, including headcount, staffing needs, and turnover/attrition.
- Provide timely insights to plant leadership and HR Operations to support decision making.
Talent & Onboarding Support
- Coordinate candidate interactions and support recruiting activities as directed.
- Deliver a hands‑on onboarding experience to ensure new hires are welcomed, trained on core policies, and productive quickly.
Culture, Employee Engagement, Communication & Safety Partnership
- Reinforce company values and consistent messaging through daily interactions and floor rounds.
- Support site employee engagement activities and internal HR communications.
- Model safe behaviors, comply with all PPE and safety protocols, and visibly partner with EHS initiatives.
Other Duties
- Perform other reasonable tasks and assignments as determined by the Company, consistent with the scope of HR support during the transition period.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of basic employment laws and HR practices.
- Working knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations, and core HR operations (timekeeping, records, benefits/LOA).
- Strong communication skills; ability to build trust and influence across levels.
- High resilience and adaptability; ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced setting and work with minimal direction.
- Proficiency with HRIS and basic reporting tools.
- Ability to multi‑task and navigate shifting priorities effectively.
- On‑site role within an industrial manufacturing facility; frequent presence on the production floor required.
- Standard PPE required in production areas (ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses, safety‑toe shoes).
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and variable temperatures; may involve standing/walking for extended periods.
