The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR & Operations Manager to play a critical role in building and scaling our people and operational infrastructure. This role will lead a wide range of HR operations, compliance, and diligence initiatives while also partnering closely with the business on day-to-day operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities
HR Policy, Compliance & Risk Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs for a fully remote, multi-state and international workforce, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including multi-state tax, worker classification, PTO, and leave requirements).
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and trusted advisor on employee matters with regulatory or compliance implications, including performance management, terminations, and conflict resolution.
- Support corporate compliance initiatives, reporting requirements, and ongoing diligence efforts.
- Assist with vendor compliance reviews and operational diligence processes.
- Benefits & People Operations
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs (health, wellness, retirement), ensuring accurate administration and compliance across jurisdictions.
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure a positive, compliant, and scalable benefits experience.
- Remote Employee Lifecycle
- Design and execute streamlined, engaging, and asynchronous onboarding and offboarding processes for remote employees.
- Ensure smooth transitions throughout the employee lifecycle while maintaining compliance and a strong employee experience.
- Operational & Systems Support
- Assist in the development and documentation of company-wide policies and procedures.
- Support the design and specification of automated data flows, reporting, and analytics related to HR and operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on operational projects and process improvements as the company scales.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: 4+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources and/or Operations, including at least 2 years supporting a fully remote or distributed workforce.
- Compliance Expertise: Strong knowledge of multi-state U.S. employment compliance (tax, PTO, leave laws). International compliance experience is a strong plus.
- PEO Experience: Hands-on experience working with PEO platforms and vendors.
- Certifications (Preferred): PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.

Ready to Join Our Team?
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000, plus equity
