Role Summary
Role: HR Operations Manager
Location: Fremont, CA
We’re not looking for a policy enforcer, we’re looking for a system builder, a workflow hacker, and a people-ops visionary. As Pebble’s first HR Operations Manager, you’ll architect and own the people infrastructure that powers our scaling organization. From the factory floor to cross-border engineering teams, you’ll be embedding smart, scalable HR systems into the DNA of the company. You’ll help us go from “early-stage messy” to “high-growth precision” without losing our soul along the way.
Responsibilities:
- Build and scale: Architect core HR processes that are fast, clean, and built for scale—onboarding, offboarding, time tracking, compliance, and everything in between.
- Data-first HR: Manage our HRIS and reporting stack like an ops system, not an afterthought. Make data visibility and actionability your superpower.
- Performance & growth: Design frameworks for performance reviews, career pathing, and internal mobility that fuel high performers—not bureaucracy.
- Digitize and automate: Lead our transition from spreadsheets and manual workflows to integrated, intelligent HR platforms and self-service systems.
- Cross-functional impact: Partner with supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, and executive leadership to embed HR strategy into real-world operations.
- Special projects: Jump into recruiting, culture design, compliance, or org development initiatives as needed. This is a startup and we wear many hats.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in HR operations, preferably across both hands-on and strategic roles in fast-moving environments.
- Experience in startups, manufacturing, or complex technical organizations.
- Strong process design chops: you don’t just patch inefficiencies—you redesign them out of existence.
- Data-literate and tech-savvy: fluent in HRIS systems, ATS systems, Jira, Google Workspace, and productivity tools.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and biased toward action. You move quickly, learn constantly, and lead with clarity—even when the map isn’t drawn.
- Collaborative, grounded, and deeply human—you understand that great operations are built for and with the people they support.
- Experience supporting non-exempt workforces, shift scheduling, and labor compliance preferred Exposure to international HR practices and distributed teams will be beneficial
- Prior experience leading digital HR transformation or systems implementation

Healthcare, Dental, Vision, 401k, Unlimited Paid Time Off
