What You’ll Do  

The Human Resources Generalist reports to the People Experience Manager and supports the delivery of a positive, compliant, and consistent employee experience across the organization. This role provides hands-on support across employee relations, HR systems, performance management, policy development, and payroll operations. The HR Generalist serves as the primary internal point of contact for the organization's Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and partners closely with the PEO's dedicated HRBP on benefits administration, compliance, and payroll coordination. This role is a reliable resource for employees and managers, ensuring HR processes are well-documented, scalable, and consistently applied. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Employee Experience & Employee Relations Support

  • Support the People Experience Manager with employee relations processes, including intake and documentation of employee concerns, coordination of meetings, communications, and follow-up steps, and preparation and maintenance of case documentation
  • Partner with the People Experience Manager and the PEO HRBP on employee relations matters, escalating complex cases and ensuring alignment between internal practices and PEO-supported processes
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for employee experience-related questions, escalating matters as appropriate
  • Support managers with guidance on HR processes, documentation expectations, and performance-related workflows in partnership with the People Experience Manager
  • Help ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures

Onboarding, Offboarding & HR Operations

  • Lead and continuously improve onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a compliant and welcoming employee experience
  • Coordinate with the PEO on new hire setup, terminations, and employment changes to ensure timely and accurate processing
  • Manage background screening requirements in alignment with grant, district contract, and other regulatory obligations
  • Maintain accurate employee data within ADP TotalSource PEO platform
  • Coordinate employment eligibility verification (I-9) and related compliance requirements between employees and the PEO HRBP

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Serve as the internal coordination point for bi-weekly payroll processing, including preparing payroll inputs and audits, reviewing payroll reports for accuracy, and troubleshooting discrepancies in coordination with the PEO
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries, escalating complex issues to the PEO HRBP as needed
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, coordinating with the PEO and PEO HRBP for administration, enrollment, and carrier-related matters

PEO Partnership & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary internal liaison to the PEO and PEO HRBP, coordinating on benefits administration, compliance, payroll processing, and employee data management
  • Support compliance monitoring and documentation related to employment regulations in partnership with the PEO
  • Draft, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures in collaboration with People Ops leadership and in alignment with PEO-supported compliance requirements

HR Systems & Technology Management

  • Maintain HR systems including ADP TotalSource and 360Learning, ensuring accurate and timely employee records
  • Support user access, testing, and reporting across HR platforms
  • Support performance management and learning systems from an administrative and operational perspective

Performance Management Support

  • Support the administration of performance management cycles, including goal-setting, reviews, and calibration activities
  • Track completion and support reporting and data analysis
  • Assist managers and employees with navigating performance management tools and timelines

Policy Development & Compliance

  • Draft, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures in collaboration with the People Experience Manager
  • Support implementation and communication of policy updates
  • Assist with compliance monitoring and documentation related to employment regulations

Engagement, Culture & Data

  • Support engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and employee surveys
  • Assist with analysis of survey results and HR KPI metrics
  • Provide insights to improve employee experience and operational effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Experience supporting employee relations processes and documentation
  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing and HR systems (e.g., ADP, 360Learning)
  • Strong understanding of HR operations, compliance, and performance management processes
  • Excellent organizational skills, discretion, and attention to detail
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required
  • Experience collaborating with a PEO, preferred, but not required
