About the Role:
The Human Resources Generalist serves as a tactical and strategic liaison between the HR team and operational leaders across the organization. This role supports employee relations, performance management, leave administration, workers’ compensation coordination, and HR compliance initiatives. You will help drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, support leaders in navigating people challenges, and ensure HR practices remain compliant, fair, and aligned with JSX’s culture.
This role is based in Burbank, CA and requires on‑site work 4 days per week. Candidates must be local to the Burbank/Greater Los Angeles area to be considered, as relocation assistance is not available.
A Day in the Life:
Your day will be dynamic and people-focused, centered on supporting leaders and Crewmembers while strengthening HR programs and workplace culture across the organization. Additional responsibilities include:
- Partnering with mid-line leaders to support people strategies and address employee concerns while maintaining a fair and compliant workplace.
- Managing employee relations matters for Supervisors and Crewmembers, assisting with investigations and partnering with HR leadership to recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Supporting performance management processes, coaching leaders on feedback and development conversations, and contributing to engagement initiatives.
- Facilitating leave of absence and accommodation processes while navigating federal, state, and local requirements.
- Coordinating workers’ compensation cases in partnership with the Safety team to ensure appropriate care and documentation.
- Ensuring HR policies and workplace practices comply with employment laws and internal policies.
- Identifying training needs and partnering with Organizational Development to support leadership development and skill-building initiatives.
- Supporting HR initiatives that improve Crewmember engagement, retention, and workplace culture.

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3+ years of progressive HR experience.

- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to address people-related challenges.
- High emotional intelligence and interpersonal awareness when navigating workplace dynamics.

Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience working with California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah labor laws.
Licenses & Certifications:
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
Pay & Perks:
Compensation is $72,000 - $82,000 annually. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation.
