About Virtue AI

Virtue AI sets the standard for advanced AI security platforms. Built on decades of foundational and award-winning research in AI security, its AI-native architecture unifies automated red-teaming, real-time multimodal guardrails, and systematic governance for enterprise apps and agents. Deploy in minutes—across any environment—to keep your AI protected and compliant. We are a well-funded, early-stage startup founded by industry veterans, and we're looking for passionate builders to join our core team.

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR professional to join our team. In this role, you'll own the full recruitment cycle and manage external recruitment agencies while also supporting key people operations functions, including payroll, benefits, work authorization, and employer visa sponsorship coordination. You're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates with ease, and takes pride in delivering a great candidate and employee experience.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our HR team, you will:

  1. Manage relationships with external staffing and recruitment agencies to build a strong candidate pipeline. Evaluate long-term if it makes sense to bring recruiting functionality in-house.

  2. Coordinate and schedule interviews across teams, serve as the first point of contact for candidates during the initial screening call, and guide them through the entire stages of the hiring process.

  3. Designing and executing a seamless onboarding experience and managing employee records.

  4. Culture & Engagement: Planning employee engagement events, fostering a mission-driven culture, and conducting employee relations.

  5. Operations & Benefits: Handling payroll (as needed), benefits administration, compensation, and office operations.

  6. Manage work authorization and employment eligibility matters — including supporting employees through immigration and visa processes (together with attorneys).

What We're Looking For

We're seeking candidates passionate about AI security and helping people with 3+ years of experience in HR, recruiting, or a related role, along with strong written and verbal communication skills that allow you to represent the company professionally with candidates, agencies, and employees alike. Hands-on experience with work authorization and immigration processes (such as I-9 compliance, H-1B, OPT/CPT, or green card sponsorship) is strongly preferred. Familiarity with payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Gusto, Rippling) and an ATS or HRIS system is a plus. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required. Tech startup experience is also preferred but not required.

Why Join Us

  • Competitive base salary compensation + equity commensurate with skills and experience.

  • Impact at scale – Help define the category of AI security and partner with Fortune 500 enterprises on their most strategic AI initiatives.

  • Work on the frontier – Engage with bleeding-edge AI/ML and deploy AI security solutions for use cases that don't yet exist anywhere else yet.

  • Collaborative culture – Join a team of builders, problem-solvers, and innovators who are mission-driven and collaborative.

  • Opportunity for growth –Help build and shape the processes and culture of an early lean team with plans for scale.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
