About Us

At Blue Robotics we’re on a mission to enable the future of marine robotics. Our organization is small but dynamic. We have employees in multiple states, team members outside of the US, and a growing office in Canada. The team we’ve assembled over the last 12 years is our single greatest asset.

The Project

We need to move historical employee records, payroll history, and timekeeping data from our previous HRIS platform (Namely) to our current platform (Rippling). The project will require evaluating the current state of the historical data, making a plan for how to move and store the data, and importing the historical data so that it can be accessed as needed by our team. The goal is to complete all the deliverables by December 18th, 2026.

Deliverables

  • Complete an analysis and inventory of historical data housed in previous HRIS (employee documents, payroll history, timekeeping/PTO records)
  • Develop a recordkeeping guide that is compliant for our internal partners
  • Migrate employee documents and HR data into current platforms
  • Organize company level data and employee-specific data with a critical eye for compliance (i.e. internal stakeholder consideration, finance, employee data requests, payroll tax info, etc.)
  • Reconcile record counts to verify nothing is lost in the migration
  • Provide a short index or guide for recordkeeping that the team can follow
  • Present a walkthrough to the HR team of the final systems.

Who We're Looking For

  • HR Consultants, especially those specializing in data management or compliance
  • HRIS Managers or Analysts with hands-on experience in Namely and/or Rippling
  • Data professionals or Data Stewards experienced in managing payroll, timekeeping, or other sensitive employee data with discretion
  • Records/Compliance Specialists with experience in data migration or recordkeeping audits

Additional Screening

  • This role requires signing a confidentiality and data handling agreement prior to system access, including restrictions on use of AI tools with employee data.
  • The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check, conducted in compliance with applicable law, prior to being granted access to HR systems or employee data.

How to Apply

Complete our brief application and upload your resume. After review, top applicants will be invited to submit a project proposal. Proposals should include:

  • Examples of similar projects
  • Professional references from similar projects.
  • Hourly rate and/or project-based fee
  • Estimate for number of hours or time needed to complete the project
  • A summary of your plan to meet the 12/18/26 deadline

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
