The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a partner to our corporate employee population, primarily supporting our LA-based employees and a portion of our remote workforce. This role is responsible for aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, fostering a positive employee experience, and providing guidance and support across all HR functions including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and HR policy interpretation.
We’re looking for someone who is a go-getter, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. If you’re someone who doesn’t wait to be told what to do - who jumps in, figures things out, and takes ownership - you’ll excel here. In return, you'll receive mentorship and exposure to a broad range of HR, gaining skills that will accelerate your growth.
How You’ll Contribute…
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on a wide range of employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and legal compliance.
- Proactively identify and address potential employee relations concerns to promote a positive and productive work environment.
- HR Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state (especially California), and local employment laws and regulations.
- Ensure HR processes are efficiently managed (onboarding, offboarding, data management).
- Contribute to the development and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Performance Management & Development:
- Support managers in all aspects of the performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance reviews, feedback, and performance improvement plans.
- Work with the Learning & Development team to identify training needs and facilitate employee development initiatives for the corporate population.
- Strategic Partnership:
- Partner with corporate leaders and managers to understand business needs and translate them into actionable HR strategies and solutions.
- Provide expert guidance and support on organizational development, change management, and talent planning initiatives.
- Talent Management:
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on recruitment strategies and onboarding processes for corporate roles.
- Support succession planning efforts and internal talent mobility.
- Data & Analytics:
- Utilize HR data and metrics to identify trends, diagnose problems, and recommend solutions that improve HR effectiveness and business outcomes.
What We’re Looking For…
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2-3 years in an HR Business Partner role, preferably supporting corporate functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and California state employment laws (e.g., wage and hour, leave laws, anti-discrimination).
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and HR policy interpretation.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (experience with UKG is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene
Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
- Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
- Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
- Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
