Are you competitive, persuasive, and ready to thrive in a remote sales role that rewards hustle and drive?

Neighbors Bank, a leading innovator in the mortgage industry, is looking for ambitious sales professionals who know how to make connections, earn trust quickly, and drive conversations forward. As a Homebuying Specialist, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients pursuing homeownership, and the voice they rely on to move from interest to action.

We’re not looking for mortgage experts. We’re looking for self-starters with a proven track record in sales — people who can sell over the phone, adapt quickly, and bring energy to every conversation. If you’ve excelled in a high-volume sales role or competitive environment, you might be exactly who we need.

Our thriving remote culture isn't just a perk — it's a reflection of how we see the future of work. We want to empower incredible people to do a great job wherever they are, while enabling flexibility.

You’ll play a vital role in helping clients achieve the dream of homeownership by fulfilling our vision of changing the way mortgages are done — by making homeownership more affordable, accessible, and achievable.

What Makes This Role Exciting?

  • Remote-First with Flexibility: Flourish in a fully remote role with the freedom to structure your day, focus on performance, and rely on tools that support long-term success.
  • Big Rewards for Top Performers: Competitive, uncapped commissions and bonuses await those who excel.
  • Be Part of Something Bigger: Join a fast-growing team with an award-winning culture that’s been recognized as a Top Workplace in the Financial Services industry.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Including health and dental coverage, a wellness program, 401(k) matching, PTO, paid holidays, and more.
  • Problem Solvers Wanted: This role is ideal for individuals who tackle challenges and find innovative solutions.

Your Journey at Neighbors Bank

Most Homebuying Specialists earn $65,000–$90,000 annually, with top performers exceeding that range. We provide a comprehensive training and coaching program to support you in reaching your income goals in remote sales and mortgage origination.

From day one, you’ll earn a base pay of $20 per hour, plus uncapped performance-based bonuses. While this is a full-time role, your earnings potential is based on your production — not your schedule.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • A structured onboarding program to help you master the loan origination process.
  • Real-time coaching and support from experienced team leads.
  • The flexibility to build a schedule that works for you.

This is a full time position where you can expect to work up to 40 hours each week, but we are seeking individuals who can work at least 64 hours each month during the evenings and weekends (or roughly 16 hours per week after 5pm or any time Saturday and Sunday). You will have a high degree of flexibility with when you choose to work each week. Top performers maximize their earnings by leaning into evenings, weekends, and other high-conversion windows.

Our People and Culture are our greatest strengths. That’s why finding incredible people who are a great culture fit is so important. We’re seeking individuals who:

  1. Are passionate about their job and have fun doing it.
  2. Will deliver results with integrity.
  3. Enjoy finding ways to enhance the lives of others every day.

Your Role as a Homebuying Specialist

Homebuying Specialists are the first voice our customers hear, and a critical part of turning curiosity into confidence. Our clients seek support from Neighbors Bank, so there is no cold calling required. Your role is to connect quickly, ask the right questions, and guide potential borrowers through the first steps of the home loan process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build rapport and collect borrower financial and credit information.
  • Educate borrowers on the loan process and identify financing options.
  • Analyze credit, income, and assets to prequalify or deny applications.
  • Provide clear communication with borrowers while guiding them through initial documentation and next steps.
  • Secure documentation and ensure all stages of the loan process are completed efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Are You the One?

No mortgage experience? No problem — but sales talent, grit, and hustle are a must. We’re looking for high-performing individuals with a proven ability to connect with people, work independently, and close the deal. Whether you come from a call center, cold-calling environment, or another competitive sales background, success in this role comes down to mindset and motivation.

This role rewards self-starters who can adapt quickly, think on their feet, and bring energy to every conversation. If that sounds like you, read on.

Here’s what makes a great fit:

  • Thrive working remotely and staying self-motivated.
  • Have succeeded in fast-paced or performance-based roles.
  • Bring a strong competitive drive and hunger to earn.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers.
  • Stay focused under pressure and in high-volume settings.
  • College degrees are not required, but the ability to learn quickly is essential.

This isn’t the role for you if:

  • You need frequent oversight to stay on track.
  • You prefer routine tasks over rapid change.
  • You’re not comfortable talking to customers by phone or email.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
