No more long waiting times with outstanding IT requests. Lumos is solving the app and access management challenges for organizations of all sizes through a unified platform. Our fast-growing startup is pioneering the way to untangle the complex web of app and access management by building the critical infrastructure that defines relationships between app, identities and data.
Why Lumos?
- Jump on a Rocketship: Since launching out of stealth mode just over 2 years ago, our team has grown from 20 to ~100 people and our customer base has 10x’ed with companies like GitHub, MongoDB and Major League Baseball!
- Build with Renowned Investor Backing: Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) backed us since the beginning and we've raised over $65m from Scale, Neo, Greg Brockman (President at OpenAI), Phil Venables (CISO at Google), and others.
- Thrive in a Unique Culture: You’ll join an early-stage company where you have actual influence on the trajectory of the company. We deeply care about our people and the philosophy we live by - check out our values here.
As the Head of Talent at Lumos, you have massive opportunity to shape the trajectory of our company. You’ll own the way we find, attract, and grow Alchemists — ensuring that every hire strengthens our culture and accelerates our mission. You’ll inherit a high-caliber team of recruiters and elevate them into a best-in-class function, while also building out our executive recruiting muscle. This is both a hands-on and high-impact role at the core of Lumos’ growth.
✨ Your Responsibilities- Strategic & Scalable Hiring Engine: Drive a talent strategy that delivers world-class hires aligned to Lumos’ company north stars and long-term bets. Build and operationalize scalable processes, playbooks, and systems that make hiring predictable, data-driven, and repeatable — enabling the team to move fast while maintaining quality, consistency, and bar-raising outcomes across all levels.
- Team Development: Coach, mentor and hire your team. Set clear productivity benchmarks (req load, close rates, pipeline health) and build structured growth paths. Expand the team as Lumos scales, ensuring capacity, specialization, and structure keep pace with business needs.
- Executive Hiring: Own and drive executive searches end‑to‑end, partnering directly with the CEO and leadership team. Build a repeatable exec hiring engine that ensures we bring in senior leaders who raise the bar and align with Lumos’ mission and values.

Influence workforce planning, role design, and talent strategy with insights grounded in data, market knowledge, and a deep understanding of Lumos’ business model. Confidently navigate compensation and equity conversations — helping candidates and leaders align on leveling, equity value, and long-term incentives with transparency and conviction
- Brand-Aligned Candidate Experience: Continuously elevate the candidate journey by auditing and optimizing every hiring touchpoint — from outreach to offer. Leverage surveys, funnel analytics, and process diagnostics to ensure a consistently exceptional experience that reflects Lumos’ values, strengthens our employer brand, and drives top-of-funnel conversion.
- 8-12+ years of recruiting experience, including 4+ years of leadership experience at high-growth SaaS companies.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a consultative partner to executives and hiring managers, influencing strategy and providing data‑driven insights rather than simply executing requisitions.
- Strength in executive hiring, with a track record of successfully closing senior leadership roles.
- Strong analytical skills — able to define and track recruiting KPIs, forecast capacity, and use data to drive strategic decisions.
- Deep knowledge of modern recruiting tools, sourcing strategies, and employer branding best practices.
- Strong communicator and culture‑carrier who can collaborate cross‑functionally and inspire confidence across leadership, hiring managers, and candidates.
- Nice to have: Experience building talent programs (DEI, university, or employer branding) that scale with company growth.
