Lime is the world's largest shared electric vehicle company. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered 700+ million rides in 250+ cities on 5 continents, replacing an estimated 150+ million car trips. Named a Time 100 Most Influential Company and Fast Company Brand That Matters, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally.

We are looking for a Head of Strategy & Planning to shape the future of Lime. In this role, you will engage directly with leaders across Lime (GMs, VPs, and C-suite) to build our annual plans and quarterly forecasts, answer our most strategic questions, and coordinate our most complex and cross-functional projects. Of course, you won’t do it alone. You’ll have a lean team of strategy experts and project managers to support you. A great candidate for this job will be a cross-functional leader, brilliant problem-solver, inspiring people manager, and disciplined project manager.

The Head of Strategy & Planning will report to the Chief Operating Officer and can be based anywhere Lime operates in the US or UK. If you’re a strategic thinker who loves building great teams and is passionate about the climate, we want to talk to you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage Lime’s strategic fleet deployment - recommend capex investment, routinely reallocate fleet, determine fleet mix (eg, ebikes vs escooters)

  • Partner closely with FP&A and local GMs to build Lime’s annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts

  • Obsessively follow Lime and competitor’s business performance; leverage your team to diagnose and respond to risks & opportunities

  • Support local teams with RFP selection and strategy

  • Answer strategic questions for Lime’s core business - e.g. Should we launch a new country? What customer populations are underserved? Are there adjacent businesses we should enter?

  • Own Lime’s roadmap for global expansion

  • Cultivate high-trust relationships with operational leaders (e.g., GMs), cross-functional execs (e.g., VP Hardware), and the C-team

  • Lead and grow a team of high-potential individuals, building a talent funnel for the broader organization

  • Travel periodically (on average 3-5 days/month) to better understand Lime’s business and operations

  • Communicate effectively across levels, teams, and channels (verbal, written, slides)

  • Inspire others with optimistic leadership and poise under pressure

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; MBA preferred

  • Extensive professional experience, including: 1) a strong track record from a top-tier consulting or finance institution, 2) minimum 3 years corporate or startup experience in an operations, FP&A, or strategy role, 3) 5+ years as a people manager

  • Deeply involved in quarterly/annual planning processes; FP&A experience a plus

  • Passion for operationally-complex businesses, ideally with experience managing physical assets

  • Analytical expertise applied to business decision-making

  • Track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects from start to finish

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and align stakeholders

  • Track record of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced, resource-constrained environment

  • Ideally have experience working across cultures and time zones in a remote environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
