Creator Deck is a modern marketing and media company. Launched in 2008, we are pioneers in the high growth influencer industry, serving some of the most prestigious brands in apparel, beauty, beverage, and arts. We are guided by our core values: to Show Care, Build Credibility, Make an Impact, Think Towards the Future, and Be Genuine.

THE TEAM
Creator Deck was founded to create an authentic, fair, empathetic, and diverse space for creativity and collaboration. These elements have remained core to us as we’ve grown. We look for people who can think disruptively and meet challenges with a fierce creative spirit. Our team unites a diverse group of people from various backgrounds, who enjoy the collaborative, creative processes that go into making anything - from a single post, to a comprehensive marketing strategy, to a fully fledged brand.

The Role
Over the past year demand for our services has skyrocketed and we currently have more work than people to handle it. It’s a good problem to have, and one we hope you can help us with.

We’re seeking a skilled and ambitious Head of Sales to join our team and help steer the ship through this time of growth. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is familiar with the influencer industry and has experience leading the sales function within an organization and setting strategic direction, but is looking for a new opportunity with room to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a Hunter - we are looking for someone who still has their hands on the sales process and can prospect and close deals
  • Lead the Sales department, collaborating with teammates to manage the entire sales process, from prospecting leads and pitching, through contract negotiation and closing, to converting to long term contracts and account maintenance.
  • Develop and implement a data-driven sales strategy aligned with business objectives to achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Drive sales performance by identifying new market opportunities, optimizing sales processes, and leveraging best practices.
  • Identify and implement improvements in sales workflows, CRM utilization, and sales enablement tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Represent the company as the lead negotiator in contract negotiations
  • Hold primary responsibility for the client experience
  • Develop new clients by following up on referrals and warm leads and hunting for new contacts
  • Hit sales quotas for agency offerings
  • As part of the leadership team, strategize to set smart sales goals and shape the growth of the company

What it takes to excel:

  • 10+ years of sales experience, closing both mid-size and enterprise accounts
  • You have a track record of hitting and exceeding sales quotas
  • A capable hunter, you can profile ideal brand partners, build relationships from scratch, and turn them into new clients
  • Familiarity with the influencer industry
  • A strategic mindset that enables you to think ahead, making plans and contingency plans for the future development of current accounts
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Historically, you’re the person your team looks to navigate difficult client conversations
  • Strong network within the industry

Benefits Upon Hire

  • Medical, Dental and Vision insurance. We cover 100% premium so there is no out-of-pocket cost for you. For a spouse and/or dependents, we pay for 50% coverage.
  • 50k Life Insurance. We covered 100% of the employee’s cost.
  • Voluntary Life Insurance (additional)
  • FSA
  • Open Time Off Policy
  • 401K (beginning 3 months after start date)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
