Where you’ll make an impact
  • You will own the sales function at Mach9 and be accountable for achieving our new business and expansion revenue targets.

  • You will recruit, onboard, coach, and develop account executives who own both new business and expansion.

  • You will work in the trenches everyday, side by side with your team, to win strategic accounts, build executive relationships, navigate complex buying processes, and turn initial projects into broader adoption across teams and business units.

  • You’ll develop and continuously refine our sales playbook, building on what works and adapting as we grow.

  • You will be a key member of our leadership team, owning sales strategy and execution and shaping Mach9’s broader GTM strategy in partnership with the CEO, Head of Solutions Engineering, and Head of Growth.

  • You will build the frameworks, models and processes required (CRM, Sales Process, Forecasting, Commission Planning, Revenue Modeling, Territory Planning, New Hire Onboarding, etc) to mature the sales organization and get to a repeatable, scalable function.

What you bring
  • You have 8+ years of experience leading revenue orgs selling technical products to Mid-market ($25K-$75K ACV) and Enterprise (6-7-figure ACV) organizations in a land and expand motion.

  • You’ve built and scaled a sales organization, helping grow revenue from single-digit millions to $20M+ ARR or through a comparable stage of growth.

  • You possess a founder mindset. That means you have insane agency, are a first principles thinker, operate with a sense of urgency and have a deep desire to win.

  • You've been told you’re an amazing coach and mentor and that you know how to motivate the team around shared goals and get the best out of your people. You’re confident AEs and SDRs who have worked for you in the past would follow you into this new role.

  • You have deep operational chops and are amazing at building and optimizing scalable processes (territory planning, sales process mapping, CRM setup, commission planning).

  • You've sold software to technical buyers in industries outside tech, earning their trust and demonstrating the value of adopting new technology.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
