The Head of Risk will oversee risk management and operations, ensure regulatory compliance, develop risk policies and procedures, and collaborate with various teams.

We are seeking a highly experienced and collaborative Head of Risk and Operations to oversee the firm’s risk management framework and manage day-to-day operational processes. This leadership role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, developing and implementing operational procedures, and working with developers, compliance, and business teams to support the firm’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s risk management and operational functions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain risk management policies and procedures in accordance with CFTC and NFA requirements.
- Monitor firm-wide risk exposures, including market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks.
- Coordinate with technology teams to design and implement risk monitoring tools and operational infrastructure related to trading, clearing, and position reconciliation.
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulators on risk-related matters; prepare and review regulatory filings, internal risk reports, and audits.
- Provide strategic input on new business initiatives, client onboarding, and product development from a risk and operations perspective.
- Represent the firm in industry groups, regulatory forums, and client meetings, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulations and market developments in the digital asset market.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services with a focus on risk management, and clearing operations; FCM experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of CFTC and NFA regulations, particularly as they relate to risk management in futures and derivatives markets.
- Master’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA) is a plus.
- Strong hands on experience developing risk frameworks including but not limited to VAR, portfolio margining, stress testing and liquidity risk, and back testing.
- Proven leadership experience and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills; ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to business operations.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with developers and technical teams to implement risk systems or automation tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Hands on experience with development tools and frameworks like Python, c#, AWS, Clickhouse, or SQL server are a plus.
- Experience in the cryptocurrency industry is a plus.
