Lead product strategy and roadmap across Archive's retail resale platform. Own prioritization, drive AI-first product decisions, partner tightly with Engineering and cross-functional teams, hire and develop the product org, and deliver measurable business outcomes (GMV, supply, demand, margin).
The summary above was generated by AI

At Archive, we believe great products should live many lives. We build the technology that powers branded resale for some of the world’s most beloved companies, including Lululemon, The North Face, New Balance, Dr. Martens, Peloton, and 50+ others. Our platform makes it easy for brands to keep products in circulation and for customers to shop secondhand with confidence.

The secondhand market is growing three times faster than traditional retail and is projected to reach $350B globally by 2028. We’re building the infrastructure behind that shift, helping brands turn resale into a meaningful part of their business and helping consumers rethink how they shop. If you’re excited to change consumer behavior for the better, we’d love to meet you.

About the role…

Archive is hiring a Head of Product to bring clarity, focus, and strong decision-making to what we build and how we build it. You'll own product strategy across our full retail stack and be the single owner of the hard prioritization calls, translating company strategy into a roadmap the whole company believes in.

This is a high-judgment, builder's role for someone who's set product direction, owned business outcomes, and made the call on what matters without waiting for a playbook. If you get energized by reshaping a category-defining product with AI, have a real feel for what drives the business, and want to operate as a true partner to engineering to turn priorities into predictable delivery, this is for you.

Responsibilities

Product strategy and roadmap

  • Own product strategy and translate Archive's company strategy and growth plan into a clear, multi-quarter roadmap and prioritization across the platform

  • Drive scalable product development across the full Archive stack: consumer shopping, peer-to-peer marketplace, trade-in and managed-resale supply, retail point-of-sale, brand and admin tooling, warehouse + 3PL visibility, customer support, and data and analytics

  • Define standard vs. custom boundaries so enterprise demands don't quietly capture the roadmap

Owning the trade-offs

  • Be the single owner of product prioritization, so strategy stays crisp and the founders are no longer making day-to-day product calls

  • Prioritize toward business outcomes, based on what will have the most impact on GMV, supply, demand and brand margin, not just customer satisfaction

  • Make hard calls with clarity and build durable decision-making mechanisms as we scale

AI-first product

  • Actively explore how AI and agentic capabilities change what we build, and how

  • Question traditional product definitions, and rebuild where it creates real leverage

Cross-functional execution

  • Partner with Engineering as a true pair to keep strategy, sequencing, and execution tight

  • Lead cross-functional planning with Engineering, Design, Implementation, and Internal Ops so launches land

  • Build a product cadence that turns customer and business needs into shipped outcomes, with clear measurement and accountability

  • Strengthen product communication across the company: what we're building, why it matters, and what's changing

Team and leadership

  • Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing product team, and partner closely with Design

  • Raise the bar on product quality and autonomy, and codify how the team works

Requirements
  • A strong track record as a Head of Product or equivalent who has owned product strategy and built and led a team

  • Sharp commercial acumen: an intuitive feel for what drives GMV, supply, and demand, and a habit of scoping and prioritizing toward business outcomes

  • Background in a high-growth B2B SaaS or marketplace environment

  • Experience building product operating systems: roadmap frameworks, prioritization models, or planning processes that improve speed and clarity

  • AI-native product thinking: conviction around AI, hands-on in understanding how to build it into a product ecosystem, and willing to rethink product from scratch rather than port over an old-world playbook

  • Strong product judgment and prioritization instincts; you can say "no / not yet" and keep trust high

  • Experience building configurable, enterprise-facing platforms with real technical depth and complexity

  • Strong cross-functional leadership; you partner deeply with Engineering, Design, Implementation, and GTM

  • An exceptional communicator, able to adapt the narrative for executive audiences

The expected annual base salary range for this position is 250,000- 300,000 USD. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren't limited to) such as role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for equity, and all employees are eligible for a full benefits package including employee and dependent healthcare and 401(k) enrollment.
Archive is a Series B company backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Energize Capital, and Bain Capital Ventures, and was named Fast Company's #2 Most Innovative Company in Retail in 2024. We're a small team with low egos and high agency, working on a problem that actually matters- and having a lot of fun doing it.

This is a remote role open across the continental US. We have offices in New York and the SF Bay Area, with hybrid options for those nearby.

We consider applicants of all backgrounds. If you are excited about what we're building but don't meet some of the criteria above, please don't let that discourage you from applying. Please note that we are unable to accept applications from candidates outside of the US at this time.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
