At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure.

Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users.

Our platform is trusted by over 3 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In January 2025, we raised $80M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $157M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development.

We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you.

Applying to Render

We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team.

We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed.

Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced product director to build and innovate Render's platform to scale with enterprises and startups. The way engineering teams ship software today is undergoing a dramatic and rapid change. AI is accelerating software development and creating conditions where teams feel tremendous pressure to ship fast and innovate. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that Render is the platform of choice for accelerating software development and deployment for today's most ambitious teams.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with design, engineering, and product leadership to develop and champion a product strategy and long-term vision for supporting scaling startups and enterprises

  • Champion the needs of our enterprises and scaling startups across Render, partnering with other product and engineering leaders to define strategic bets across the entire platform

  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to develop a deeper understanding of to address startup, mid-market, and enterprise customers’ evolving needs and inform positioning

  • Grow and develop as a leader on a talented, engaged, and passionate product, design, and engineering team

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of experience in a Product Management role, with most of that time working on developer tools or similar technical products at a product-led growth company

  • An ability to inspire and champion big ideas that have a massive impact on the business and our customers

  • A love of high-quality, well-crafted user experiences and strong intuition for developer tools

  • Experience directly managing and growing PMs

  • Strong, successful track record of managing products with deep technical and business complexity

  • An ability to proactively anticipate challenges and the downstream effects of decisions, and take appropriate action to address

  • A knack for balancing user insights and data with creativity and intuition to identify novel but simple solutions to problems

  • Exceptional communication skills across writing and conversation

Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience as a developer professionally or a technical background

  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as customer success or sales, particularly for a developer platform

If this role excites you but you don’t meet every single requirement, we’d still love to hear from you—your unique experience might be just what we need.

Benefits
  • This opportunity is also eligible for equity with early-exercise options and extended exercise windows.

  • 4 weeks of paid vacation, available from day one.

  • 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return.

  • Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans.

  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent. FSAs and HSAs are available as well.

  • Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental health and therapy, hobbies, etc.

  • Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy.

  • Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders.

  • Continuous learning benefits & related support.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
