Buck Mason is hiring a Head of Men’s Brand & Communications to drive communications and new media for our men’s business. Reporting to VP of Digital and partnering directly with our founders, you’ll own the narrative and relationships that reinforce product stories and brand first principles, and you’ll maintain the industry relationships that create opportunities for brand exposure. This is a hands-on, in-house opportunity to build and run your own new media team.

What You'll Do

  • Own storytelling for key product launches, inclusive of product narrative, key partnerships to amplify launches, and press strategies — with particular focus on our most distinctive products as well as the craft and provenance behind them.
  • Develop and execute the communications and PR strategy for the men’s business in partnership with the founders and senior leadership.
  • Create, maintain, and expand relationships with press, writers, editors, stylists, podcasters, and industry leaders to create opportunities for brand exposure.
  • Manage media relations, press materials, and press events
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines with stylists, costume designers, and VIP and celebrity networks to drive organic brand placements.
  • Serve as a spokesperson and face of the brand for press opportunities alongside the founders.
  • Develop a consistent brand voice across channels of communication in collaboration with marketing, social, and creative teams.
  • Monitor the media and cultural landscape — publications, newsletters, Substacks, podcasts, and emerging platforms — and identify opportunities as they develop.

Who you are

  • 8+ years of fashion communications or PR experience — agency, in-house, or running your own independent practice; menswear fluency strongly preferred.
  • Established relationships with editors, writers, stylists, and industry leaders, and demonstrated success building new press and talent relationships.
  • A proven ability to develop meaningful relationships that result in authentic coverage and organic placements.
  • Deep knowledge of the menswear segment — brands, press, VIPs, and the evolving media landscape.
  • An exceptional writer and communicator; comfortable being a face of the brand and hosting at the highest level.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and taste; thrives working founder-adjacent in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Based in Los Angeles with regular travel to New York.
  •

What we can offer

  • Competitive pay
  • Health, dental & vision Insurance
  • Fitness & wellness benefits
  • 401k retirement savings plan with Company matching
  • Clothing allowances

Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen founded Buck Mason in 2013 to simplify the American wardrobe. Meeting as neighbors in Venice Beach, they started designing and selling clothes out of a small studio off Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Sasha built the website and Erik created the brand’s first collection of jeans and tees. Taking an architectural approach to design, they built each piece to last far beyond a single season. Obsessed with quality, they worked with local mills and factories to create the finest fabrics down to the thread. Today, Buck Mason offers a broad range of clothing and accessories with a continued commitment to making high-quality, modern American classics.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
