About HeyGen

At HeyGen, our mission is to make visual storytelling accessible to all. Over the last decade, visual content has become the preferred method of information creation, consumption, and retention. But the ability to create such content, in particular videos, continues to be costly and challenging to scale. Our ambition is to build technology that equips more people with the power to reach, captivate, and inspire audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive user acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth in the emerging field of AI video technology.
  • User Acquisition & Growth: Supercharge the top of the funnel by driving high-value signups through a mix of organic and paid channels. This includes SEO, content marketing, paid social media (YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok), sponsored content, and affiliate programs.
  • Brand & Positioning: Create demand for a new category (AI video for business), own brand positioning, and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor marketing teams (including social media, content, and field marketing) to achieve strategic goals and foster a data-driven culture.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Sales, Creative, and Data Science teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives, identify high-LTV customer segments, and drive international growth.
  • Performance Analysis & Budgeting: Manage marketing budgets, optimize spend for maximum ROI, and use data analytics (e.g., Salesforce, Looker) to measure performance and iterate on strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (typically 7-10+ years) in growth marketing or related roles, with a track record of driving user acquisition in a high-volume, global Product-Led Growth (PLG) environment.

  • Execution-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
