Vital.io is seeking a Director and Head of Marketing. As Vital’s Director of Marketing, you will be the marketing pillar that Vital is building around.


The focus is primarily top of the sales funnel, filling it with new opportunities that you and your team identify, engage and qualify.  You will own our lead generation strategy while you optimize and grow new lead sources.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful demand generation programs, excellent leadership, and cross-functional project management skills, and a passion for driving results.  In addition to lead generation, you will own the overall brand and content strategy for Vital and driving our market awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be strategic: Define the overall marketing strategy and goals in collaboration with the Vital leadership team
  • Develop the team: Be an incredible leader, player-coach, partner and mentor to your team and others around you.
  • Be an executive: Build a consolidated GTM motion, partnering with leaders from Sales, Customer Success, Product and Operations.
  • Be action-oriented: Drive day-to-day execution
  • Own the tools. Use AI and software to automate everything that can be automated, leaving the marketing time to be creative.
  • Own top-of-funnel demand: Spearhead campaigns focused on demand generation
  • Own brand. Develop and execute a brand strategy that drives awareness and perception for Vital.  Ensure Vital’s brand message is strong, consistent across all channels
  • Own content: Develop and own the content strategy
  • Measure everything: Measure the KPIs / impact of all inbound & outbound marketing activities. Optimize MQL => SQL funnel, SEO, email open rates and more.
  • Be creative. Work with Vital's executive team to brainstorm and execute new marketing experiments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of B2B Healthcare Marketing experience in at a SaaS or technology company.  Full stack marketing experience with a demand generation-leaning background preferred.
  • Passionate about enhancing the customer experience and building strong, long-term relationships with customers, executives, and stakeholders.
  • Passion for leading and growing a marketing organization.
  • Experience within a startup environment, comfortable with executing on all above requirements with limited resources and oversight.  Entrepreneurial mindset is very important to the Vital team.
  • Understanding of the PLG strategy and marketing funnel stages
  • Proven expertise in creating and executing multi-touch, multi-channel marketing programs that leverage inbound and outbound tactics
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think and execute both strategically and creatively
  • Prior hands-on experience with various writing and analytic tools in the Martech stack, including Salesforce, Active Campaign or other Marketing Automation tool, Google Search Console and Analytics, advertising platforms, social media platforms, data providers intent platforms, content marketing tools, Excel and Slack
  • A passion for customers and problem solving, desire to go deep and become familiar with the customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
