As the Head of Industry & Apps Partnerships, you will be responsible for building and scaling Databricks’ global ecosystem of industry and business application partners. This key role, reporting to the SVP of Product Ecosystem, will lead a team of partner and category managers focused on ensuring every Databricks customer can seamlessly access any dataset, tool, or model from leading Systems-of-Record ISVs (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday) and top data providers across industries, including Financial Services (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG, S&P Global), Healthcare & Life Sciences (e.g., IQVIA, Epic, Veeva), Ad Tech (e.g., The Trade Desk, Epsilon, Acxiom), and Retail/E-Commerce (e.g., Circana, Adobe).

We are looking for someone who has “seen the movie” — someone who has built and scaled partnerships with these companies at a hyperscaler, leading data platform, or major enterprise ISV — and can translate that experience into long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with these companies. The role demands a mix of technical, business development, and GTM acumen: able to work with Product and Engineering teams to shape integrations and Built-On Databricks solutions, and with Sales and Marketing to activate joint GTM plays that drive measurable impact.

You will also be responsible for prioritizing which ISVs and data providers to partner with based on customer demand, size of opportunity, and Databricks’ ability to create differentiated value together. Success will require deep knowledge of large-scale technology ecosystems, a data-driven approach to partnership decisions, and an entrepreneurial drive to make Databricks the platform where every customer’s most important data and applications come together seamlessly.

The impact you will have:
  • Define and execute Databricks’ Industry & Apps partnership strategy, including segmentation, prioritization, and success metrics across Systems-of-Record ISVs and Vertical ISVs/data providers.
  • Lead and develop a global team of partner and category managers driving partnerships with top ISVs and data providers across System of Record, Financial Services, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Ad Tech, Retail/E-Commerce, Manufacturing, and other industries.
  • Own executive and working-level relationships with leading ISVs (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Epic, Veeva, The Trade Desk, Bloomberg, LSEG, S&P Global) to drive integrations, Built-On solutions, and joint field execution.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to design, validate, and launch integrations that make it seamless for customers to use their preferred data, tools, and models within Databricks.
  • Prioritize partnerships based on customer demand, size of opportunity, and Databricks’ ability to create differentiated value together.
  • Develop joint value propositions and scalable GTM plays with ISVs and data providers that resonate with both technical and business decision-makers across industries.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership to design and land co-sell plays, enablement programs, and co-marketing campaigns that drive measurable partner-attributed pipeline.
  • Represent Databricks externally at industry events, partner summits, and executive briefings, evangelizing the Databricks ecosystem vision.
  • Advocate internally for partner and customer needs, influencing product roadmaps, data-sharing strategy, and marketplace initiatives.
What we look for:
  • 10+ years in product partnerships, business development, or partner management, including experience leading ISV ecosystems at a hyperscaler, leading data platform, or major enterprise ISV.
  • Proven success building and scaling industry or application partnerships that deliver measurable partner-sourced or partner-influenced revenue.
  • Deep understanding and network across vertical ISVs and data providers in Financial Services, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Ad Tech, Retail/E-Commerce, and/or Manufacturing.
  • Experience partnering with Systems-of-Record ISVs such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, and SAP — with the ability to develop joint value propositions that resonate with their buyers.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership — able to influence Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to drive integrations and GTM execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize opportunities using data-driven frameworks and customer insights.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills — able to communicate with clarity to executive and C-level audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with commercial and technical fluency — comfortable navigating data, analytics, and AI ecosystems.
  • Grit, humility, and the ability to thrive in a high-growth, founder-led environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
