Job Summary
Andrenam is seeking a Head of Navy Business to lead our growth and customer engagement strategy across the U.S. Navy and related maritime defense organizations. In this high-impact role, you’ll be responsible for building strategic relationships, shaping programs, and driving business development activities that translate cutting-edge technology into deployed maritime capabilities.
This role is ideal for a mission-driven leader with a proven track record navigating Navy acquisition pathways, engaging across commands, and building pipeline opportunities from concept through contract.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the Navy business development strategy for Andrenam
- Identify, qualify, and pursue programs and solicitations across NAVSEA, ONR, NAVAIR, NIWC, and other maritime-focused organizations
- Build strong relationships with Navy program offices, technical leads, and decision-makers across the surface, undersea, and autonomous systems domains
- Shape pre-RFP opportunities and influence early-stage requirements development
- Lead capture efforts and contribute to proposals, white papers, and customer briefings
- Represent Andrenam at Navy trade shows, industry days, and technology demonstrations
- Collaborate with the Head of Growth and executive team to align customer engagement with product and engineering roadmaps
- Track Navy priorities, budget trends, and acquisition cycles to ensure long-term positioning
- Mentor and support growth team members and help build a scalable BD function
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in defense business development, capture management, or Navy program engagement
- Deep knowledge of Navy acquisition structures, procurement cycles, and relevant tech transition pathways (SBIR, OTA, BAAs, etc.)
- Strong relationships across Navy labs, PEOs, and operational communities
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with maritime systems (e.g., USVs, UUVs, ISR, MCM, undersea warfare)
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional capture efforts from identification to award
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a venture-backed defense startup or dual-use technology company
- Familiarity with autonomy, C2 systems, or distributed sensing networks
- Prior military service, especially Navy or maritime domains
- Experience working with primes, FFRDCs, or Navy SBIR transition partners
- Knowledge of international naval markets or coalition partner procurement

Salary Range
$165,000 – $190,000
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Andrenam's total compensation package. Additionally, Andrenam offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including: medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
