About Writesonic

We're making Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) as essential as SEO. Our platform helps brands track and improve their visibility across AI search platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Companies like Amazon, Unilever, and Acer use us to win in AI search.

We're YC-backed and competing in a market where AI discovery is exploding (companies report 10-12% of high-intent leads now come from AI search, up 400%+ YoY).

About the Role

We're looking for a Head of Growth Marketing who can drive enterprise pipeline while building category awareness. This is not a strategy role. This is a building role.

You'll own the full growth engine: paid campaigns, influencer marketing, webinars, ABM programs, outbound sequences, LinkedIn and more. You'll work directly with me (Sam, founder) to turn our product into the movement that reshapes how companies think about AI search.

The split: 70% revenue generation, 30% category awareness.

What makes this different: You're not optimizing existing funnels. You're creating new ones for a category that barely exists yet. We have 500M conversations of proprietary data, proven enterprise traction, and the best product in the market. Now we need someone to tell that story at scale.

What You'll Do

Drive Enterprise Revenue (70%)

  • Own pipeline generation across mid-market and enterprise segments
  • Build and run ABM programs targeting Fortune 500 decision-makers
  • Design account-based campaigns for strategic accounts
  • Scale paid campaigns across LinkedIn, Google with positive ROI
  • Build outbound sequences using Clay, Apollo, or similar tools
  • Create sales enablement materials that help AEs articulate GEO's ROI
  • Implement the LinkedIn Flywheel: boost top posts, capture engagers, follow up with value

Create Category Awareness (30%)

  • Make Writesonic synonymous with AI search optimization
  • Ship content weekly (not quarterly) about AI search trends
  • Build presence in SEO/CMO communities and industry events
  • Co-host webinars with industry leaders
  • Activate our ecosystem (agencies, influencers, customers) to amplify reach

Build Growth Infrastructure

  • Implement attribution that actually works (including HDYHAU surveys)
  • Design automated nurture sequences for PLG and SLG motions
  • Create dashboards measuring visibility across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity
  • Build repeatable playbooks for self-serve and enterprise acquisition
  • Manage agencies (paid, outbound) without depending on them
The Profile We're Looking For

π-Shaped Marketer

You spike in 2 of the 3 marketing sub-functions and can work across all 3:

Sub-Function What We Need Growth/Engine PRIMARY SPIKE (ads, outbound, lifecycle, ABM) Content/Fuel Secondary (we have a Head of Content) Product Marketing Working knowledge

Must-Haves

  • 5-8 years in B2B SaaS marketing, ideally at companies in $2M-$20M ARR range
  • Hands-on campaign execution in the last 6 months (not just management)
  • Built and optimized paid campaigns yourself (LinkedIn, Google)
  • Experience with signal-based outbound and ABM tools (Clay, Apollo, Unify, or similar)
  • Can create landing pages (Webflow, Framer, or similar)
  • Managed marketing budget of $50K+/month
  • Track record generating enterprise pipeline ($20K+ ACVs)

AI Fluency (Non-Negotiable)

  • Power user of AI tools for research, content, and automation
  • Has built workflows in Zapier, Make, n8n, or Clay
  • Can vibe-code landing pages or tools if needed
  • Uses AI daily, not occasionally

Builder Mentality

  • Ships experiments weekly, not quarterly
  • Shows things you've built, not just managed
  • Comfortable creating content, running webinars, speaking at events
  • Can execute while building a team

Nice-to-Haves

  • SEO/AEO experience (understands the shift to AI search)
  • Active LinkedIn presence with regular posting
  • Network of CMOs, SEO leaders, or marketing executives
  • Agency background (used to shipping fast across multiple clients)
  • Early-stage startup experience or founding marketer at a company that scaled
Why This Role Matters

You're not joining to run playbooks. You're joining to write them.

GEO will be as fundamental as SEO. The companies that figure out AI search visibility first will dominate their categories. We're building the tool that makes that possible.

This is a career-defining opportunity to own the creation of a category.

RequirementsWhat We're Looking For

Must-Have Experience

  • Scaled a B2B SaaS company from $5M to $20M+ ARR
  • Proven track record generating enterprise pipeline ($20K+ ACVs)
  • Built marketing function at Series A/B company
  • Active LinkedIn presence with 10K+ followers and regular engagement
  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools
  • Existing network of top CMOs and marketing leaders
  • Built and optimized paid campaigns ($100K+ monthly spend)

Technical Skills

  • Can build basic automations and use AI
  • Understanding of SEO/SEM and how it translates to AI search
  • Ability to run paid campaigns across LinkedIn, Google, and emerging channels

Builder Mentality

  • Ships experiments weekly, not quarterly
  • Shows actual things you've built, not just managed
  • Comfortable creating content, running webinars, and speaking at events
  • Can execute while building a team simultaneously
Why This Role Matters

You're not joining to optimize existing funnels. You're here to define how every company approaches AI search visibility for the next decade. We have 200M conversations of proprietary data, proven enterprise traction, and an 18-month window before big tech catches up.

This is a career-defining opportunity to own the creation of a category that will be as fundamental as SEO.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
