Description

About Medical Guardian:

Medical Guardian is a trusted leader in personal safety solutions, delivering independence and peace of mind for aging adults. With over 615,000 members and a growing product portfolio, we’re evolving from a device brand into a consumer healthcare membership platform that delivers proactive support, personalized coaching, and compassionate care.

Recognized as a Best Place to Work and a 12-time Inc. 5000 honoree, we combine mission-driven impact with commercial excellence. With $50 million in annual marketing investment, we’re redefining what aging independently can look like.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a strategic and high-output Head of Growth & Acquisition Marketing to lead and scale our full-funnel member acquisition engine across direct-to-consumer and healthcare (payer/partner) segments.

This is not a traditional performance marketing role. You’ll serve as a GM-caliber growth leader who blends business strategy with channel execution. From digital and traditional media to activation, onboarding, and creative testing, you’ll own the levers that drive net new growth, CAC efficiency, and payback performance.

The ideal candidate has led large teams, managed $50M+ in media budgets, and built scalable growth programs across multiple channels—while partnering with product, data, and lifecycle to close the loop between acquisition and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full-funnel acquisition strategy for both DTC and Healthcare channels
  • Lead acquisition efforts across digital (Search, Social, Programmatic, Affiliate, Influencer, Amazon, Walmart) and offline (CTV, Linear TV, Direct Mail, Print)
  • Oversee omnichannel campaign development and A/B testing strategy
  • Partner with analytics, FP&A, and data science to manage pacing, forecasts, and budget efficiency
  • Collaborate with Product, Member Experience, and Lifecycle to improve onboarding, activation, and funnel velocity
  • Work closely with Marketing Operations on attribution, reporting infrastructure, and tooling
  • Partner with Brand and Creative teams to ensure performance messaging lands across every touchpoint
  • Build and lead a high-performance team across paid media, acquisition analytics, and growth experimentation
  • Manage agencies, growth vendors, and platform partners—ensuring performance, accountability, and innovation
  • Pilot new growth channels (e.g., OTT, podcast, retail, AI-driven offers) and scale what work
  • Translate company OKRs into actionable growth initiatives across audience segments
  • Align growth plans to CAC, LTV, and revenue goals—and continuously monitor business impact
  • Test new offer constructs, pricing strategies, and conversion flows in collaboration with Product
  • Leverage our owned channels and IOE platform to fuel referral, upsell, and member acquisition

Success Metrics:

  • Net New Members Acquired (DTC + Healthcare)
  • CAC & Blended CAC
  • ROAS / Marketing Efficiency Ratio
  • Conversion Rate (by channel, segment, and offer)
  • Funnel Velocity & Time to Activation
  • Payback Period & Contribution Margin

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience leading acquisition and growth marketing at scale
  • Proven success managing $50M+ in media spend across digital and traditional channels
  • Strong command of CAC, LTV, ROAS, and performance forecasting
  • Experience partnering across product, lifecycle, and analytics to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Exceptional team leadership and vendor management skills
  • Deep understanding of both strategy and tactical execution—from upper-funnel brand impact to lower-funnel conversion
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, iterative, and cross-functional environments
Benefits
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Time Off & Holidays)
  • Company Paid Short Term Disability and Life Insurance
  • Retirement Plan (401k) with Company Match

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
