About Us

Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long-form animated shows distributed on YouTube. Our channel has over 22 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode, and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. One of our latest IP, The Amazing Digital Circus, has amassed over 400 million views on the pilot alone, and we have a lot more still to come.

Role Overview

The Head of Franchise will lead the global brand extension, commercial strategy, and multi-platform expansion of our Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio. This includes; Murder Drones, The Amazing Digital Circus, Gaslight District, Knights of Guinevere and many more to come.

This role reports to the Chief Brand Officer and is responsible for turning standalone properties into enduring, highly valued media franchises across entertainment, consumer products, gaming, publishing, live events, and digital activations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Franchise Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute long-term (3-5+ year) global franchise vision, brand roadmap, and monetization strategies for key IP properties.
  • Cross-Category Licensing & Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage high-value strategic partnerships across consumer products, interactive media/gaming, location-based entertainment, and publishing.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the central hub connecting Creative, Production, Marketing, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure brand consistency and narrative cohesion across all consumer touchpoints.
  • P&L & Commercial Management: Own the franchise P&L, set global licensing targets, evaluate royalty structures, and drive revenue growth while maximizing gross margins.
  • Brand Lifecycle Management: Monitor consumer engagement, market trends, and audience analytics to continuously refresh IP relevance, manage release cadence, and expand into new demographics/territories.
 

Key Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in brand management, licensing, or commercial leadership within a major media, gaming, entertainment, or IP-driven organization.
  • Proven track record of scaling IP across multiple verticals (e.g., film/TV, gaming, merchandise, live experiences).
  • Deep understanding of global licensing frameworks, contract negotiations, rights management, and brand guidelines.
  • Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to bridge creative vision with commercial performance.
