About Azira

Azira is a location intelligence platform built for today’s data-driven teams, transforming mobile location signals into high-confidence, privacy-first insights. Our technology helps marketing, operations, and data leaders make smarter decisions, optimize performance, and drive measurable growth. From retailers and media agencies to destination marketers and real estate teams, we deliver trusted, validated insights rooted in real-world behavior, connecting the dots between where people go and how businesses can better reach, serve, and grow their audiences.

Why This Role Matters

We are looking for a Head of FP&A & Strategic Finance to architect how Azira plans, measures, and optimizes company-wide performance. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of Finance, Strategy, and global Operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own our long-range financial architecture and serve as the strategic storyteller for our board and investors. This role combines elite financial modeling, systems thinking, and commercial judgment. You will shape capital allocation strategy and global growth planning, while staying close to the work by building models, pressure-testing go-to-market plans, and ensuring our financial infrastructure scales with discipline and clarity.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and Own the Company Financial Model: Build and maintain the master long-range financial model, integrating global revenue streams, multi-region headcount planning, and scenario analysis to guide executive decision-making.
  • Drive Executive and Board Readiness: Lead preparation of board materials and investor reporting. Partner closely with the CFO to ensure long-term financial plans are rigorous, coherent, and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Build a Scalable, Modern FP&A Function: Establish a cloud-native, growth-stage FP&A environment. Transition from manual spreadsheets to automated reporting, dashboards, and real-time performance visibility.
  • Act as a Strategic Business Partner: Partner with senior leadership across GTM, Operations, and Product to ensure decisions are fact-based, financially grounded, and aligned with our long-term plan.
  • Optimize Capital Allocation: Analyze global performance trends and investment opportunities to recommend where capital should be deployed to maximize enterprise value.
  • Lead with Accountability and Velocity: In a distributed environment, take full ownership of financial planning workstreams—delivering clarity, precision, and actionable insights at speed.

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in high-performance environments (e.g., Investment Banking, Private Equity, high-growth AdTech, or rigorous corporate finance training programs)
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets, with the ability to translate complex data into clear executive narratives
  • Deep systems orientation, with experience integrating data across CRM (e.g., HubSpot), ERP (e.g., NetSuite), and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
  • Experience operating in global, multi-entity environments, including exposure to currency impacts and international structures
  • Strong ownership mindset: you operate independently, think structurally, and hold yourself accountable for outcomes
  • Ability to balance strategic altitude with hands-on execution
  • Clear, confident communication skills with executives, board members, and cross-functional leaders
  • Experience building or scaling FP&A infrastructure in a growth-stage company (strongly preferred)

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Competitive base salary (annual): $180,000 – $215,000 USD (depending on experience)
  • Bonus eligible; variable compensation tied to financial accuracy, forecast cadence, and strategic milestones
  • Full medical, dental, vision, and PTO benefits
  • Flexible remote work environment (U.S.-based)
  • Direct partnership with the CFO and high visibility with board and investors
  • Opportunity to define and build the financial engine of a global growth company
  • Collaborative, high-trust culture with strong ownership

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
