As Head Finance Generics External Supply Organization (ESO), you will serve as the strategic finance partner to the Generics External Supply Organization (ESO), overseeing a business scope of approximately USD 1.8 billion across a global network of more than 250 suppliers. You will work closely with the Head ESO Generics, the Head ESO Injectables/GLP-1, Procurement, and senior leaders across the organization to drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and deliver sustainable value creation. 

This is a highly visible leadership role with significant impact on Sandoz’s supply network, cost competitiveness, and long-term growth agenda. You will lead a high-performing global finance team while shaping the financial strategy for one of the company's most critical operational areas. 

 

Your Key Responsibilities: 

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:  

  • Act as the primary finance business partner to the Generics ESO leadership team, providing strategic guidance and financial insights. 

  • Drive financial performance across a USD 1.8 billion external manufacturing spend portfolio. 

  • Support the delivery of cost savings objectives, with Generics ESO contributing a significant share of the company's overall savings targets. 

  • Partner with Procurement, External Supply, and Manufacturing leaders to drive value creation and operational excellence. 

  • Evaluate commercial opportunities, supplier agreements, and external manufacturing contracts to maximize business value and mitigate financial risks. 

  • Lead financial assessment and decision support for network strategy, supplier management, and contract transitions. 

  • Support Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes by translating business demand into financial implications and actionable insights. 

  • Ensure high-quality planning, forecasting, reporting, and financial governance across the organization. 

  • Foster collaboration across Finance and cross-functional teams to strengthen decision-making and alignment. 

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing global finance team.

  • Drive continuous improvement by simplifying financial processes and strengthening decision-making across the organization. 

 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

Essential and Desirable Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration; MBA preferred. 

  • 10+ years of experience in Finance, including Finance Business Partnering within global or regional organizations. 

  • Strong experience in Commercial Finance, Supply Chain Finance, and/or Manufacturing Finance. 

  • Experience working with External Supply, Procurement, Supplier Management, and/or Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). 

  • Hands-on mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments. 

  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience reviewing and influencing complex commercial contracts and strategic business decisions. 

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strong cross-functional partnerships in a global environment. 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams. 

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
