About The Role:

We’re looking for an exceptional hands-on leader, Head of Engineering, to drive our multidisciplinary team and own delivery from concept to deployment.

We want a driven, fast paced self learner that is not afraid of taking deviation and responsibility and knows how to execute fast with a small team

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a high-performing team of engineers. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation.
  • Grow the team, expanding from 10 to 30 members quickly.
  • Oversee and create the timeline of both the development and testing phases to make sure we reach our commercial commitments.
  • Coordinate the integration of hardware, electrical, and software elements, fostering effective collaboration between multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Implement agile working practices within the team to enhance productivity and better collaboration. Ideally, working in the Scrum method of sprints and epics.
  • Balance big-picture thinking with hands-on execution, driving projects from conception through to scale.
  • Groom existing partnerships and create collaboration with suppliers who can streamline our development.
  • Present the technological developments to customers and inventors.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements, fostering a culture of self-learning and professional growth within the team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Led development from concept in an electric vehicle company.
  • Demonstrated experience in agile project management.
  • Ability to move between strategy and hands-on engineering
  • Experience leading small engineering teams and delivering complex technical projects end-to-end
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence with strong team management skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Proactive self-starter who is not afraid of big challenges.
  • Bonus - Technical background in high-power systems, power Electronics and mobile energy storage systems.
  • Bonus 2 - loves trains.
