At Rezilient, we’re reimagining how primary and specialty care are delivered, making them more accessible, connected, and patient-centered than ever before. Through our hybrid CloudClinic model, we bring together in-person Medics and Care Teams with virtual Providers to deliver timely, tech-enabled care. By removing barriers to access and creating seamless integration between physical and digital care, we’re building a healthcare experience that’s as modern and data-driven as it is personal and human.

Join Rezilient as our mission-driven Vice President of Engineering, a pivotal senior leadership role where you will lead and scale our technical organization at the forefront of health-tech and care delivery innovation. We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader who excels at the intersection of technology, clinical operations, and organizational growth, ready to shape the culture, structure, and standards that will enable innovation, velocity, and scalable impact.

You will guide the continued evolution of Rezilient’s core technology platform, which powers care delivery across our expanding CloudClinic network. This comprehensive oversight covers all facets of engineering from cloud architecture, infrastructure, feature shipment, and data engineering to interoperability and security. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring the systems we build deeply align with clinical workflows, driving the data models and technical direction that define our patient experience.

  • Architect scalable, secure systems that balance rapid iteration and feature velocity with long-term reliability and data integrity.
  • Drive executional excellence by translating business needs into actionable engineering plans and partnering with Product and Clinical leaders to deliver features that enhance patient experience and care delivery.

Technical Leadership & Innovation

  • Act as the top engineering authority, setting standards for architecture, infrastructure, and software craftsmanship.
  • Oversee the scalability of the production application (React/Node.js) and manage DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and maintenance to ensure performance and uptime.
  • Drive innovation by leading data interoperability and clinical integration (FHIR/HL7) and building Data Engineering capabilities to power analytics, AI/ML applications, and clinical impact.
  • Provide hands-on technical mentorship and complex debugging when necessary.

Team Development

  • Build and scale the engineering organization into a structured, scalable function.
  • Mentor and develop leaders across all disciplines (Software, DevOps, Data), fostering a collaborative culture of excellence, ownership, and accountability.
  • Implement transparent frameworks for performance, growth, and feedback.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the executive team, aligning engineering initiatives with company and operational goals by partnering with Product, Clinical Operations, and Finance.
  • Bridge technical and non-technical teams by translating trade-offs into clear business terms and collaborating on seamless rollouts.

Infrastructure, Data, & Compliance

  • Ensure enterprise-grade system reliability, uptime, and performance.
  • Build scalable DevOps pipelines, CI/CD frameworks, and cloud systems for efficient and secure deployment.
  • Proactively manage technical debt and infrastructure investments to balance innovation with stability, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST security standards.

Communication & Thought Leadership

  • Evolve Rezilient’s engineering operating model and communicate clearly across all stakeholders (Engineers, Clinicians, Executives, Investors), blending technical depth with strategic vision.
  • Reinforce a mission-driven mindset and represent Rezilient externally as a technology-driven healthcare leader.

Requirements
  • 10–15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 3+ years in senior leadership roles (Director, VP, or equivalent).
  • Proven success scaling teams from 10 → 50+ in early-stage, high-growth, Series A–C environments.
  • Deep familiarity with healthcare technology, including EHR/EMR integrations, interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7), and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, HITRUST).
  • Strong understanding of how to leverage AI/ML responsibly and strategically in a tech-enabled care delivery environment.
  • Expertise in Agile Development and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Front-end development using Javascript/Typescript, React, Node.js, and Express to develop and scale production-level applications, including implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong technical foundation in scaling AWS cloud architecture and DevOps for production applications.
  • Deep familiarity with architecting, implementing, integrating, and scaling SQL databases and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) to support production applications, operational analytics, and ML/AI use-cases.
  • Deep familiarity with implementing and scaling integrations for labs, imaging, and prescriptions.
  • Strategic yet hands-on, combining high-level vision with tactical execution and a builder’s mindset rooted in clarity, collaboration, and impact.
  • An excellent communicator and mentor who builds strong, inclusive, and mission-driven teams.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
