You’ll lead company-wide efficiency at Sword Health - ensuring every dollar, hire, and process becomes an impact multiplier as we continue to scale globally. This is not about cutting costs, it’s about building visibility, driving automation and AI adoption, and helping Sword grow faster without doubling its cost base.
The Finance Team at Sword plays a pivotal role in scaling the company and driving sustainable growth. We partner across the organization to lead financial planning, analysis, and operations - ensuring smart resource allocation, rigorous compliance, and strategic insights that enable informed decisions and long-term impact.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee all company spend, from direct (hardware, supply chain) to indirect (software, vendors, marketing, professional services) to staff costs.
- Partner with FP&A and all budget owners to connect hiring, vendor, and automation decisions to measurable ROI.
- Build systems / dashboards that create transparency and accountability across every spend category.
- Identify and lead automation or process redesign initiatives that increase output and speed across the company.
- Manage and grow a small, high-impact team (including 2 Procurement Leads and a Headcount/Workforce Analyst) to execute initiatives.
- Work directly with the CFO, CEO, and other leaders to design how Sword scales from here.
What you need to have:
- 7+ years of experience in Efficiency roles, Strategy/Operations Consulting, PE/IB with operating exposure, or Finance/Operations leadership roles.
- Proven record driving cross-functional transformation and delivering measurable efficiency or productivity gains.
- Strong financial and analytical skills - able to quantify ROI and link efficiency programs to business results.
- Solid understanding of org design and workforce planning, ideally partnering with FP&A or HR teams.
- Strong executive presence - confident partnering with C-level leaders and influencing without authority.
- Comfortable with technology and AI adoption, from SaaS automation to AI-driven process improvement.
What we would love to see:
- Experience overseeing procurement processes (direct or indirect), vendor negotiations, and spend governance.
- Background in a high-growth tech or healthcare scale-up, ideally with international expansion.
- Hands-on experience deploying automation or AI tools to replace or augment manual workflows.
- Track record building procurement or transformation functions from scratch.
- Blend of strategic and execution mindset: able to zoom out to design systems, and zoom in to make them work.
- Curiosity and grit: you get energy from solving complex, cross-functional problems.
- Consulting toolkit or PE-style value creation mindset - you think in terms of leverage, not just savings.
To ensure you feel good solving a big Human problem, we offer:
- A stimulating, fast-paced environment with lots of room for creativity;
- A bright future at a promising high-tech startup company;
- Career development and growth, with a competitive salary;
- The opportunity to work with a talented team and to add real value to an innovative solution with the potential to change the future of healthcare;
- A flexible environment where you can control your hours (remotely) with unlimited vacation;
- Access to our health and well-being program (digital therapist sessions);
- Remote or Hybrid work policy.
