Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Ecommerce Operations to lead and scale all aspects of ecommerce operations at Midi Health.  This role oversees end-to-end eCommerce operations—including platform management, digital fulfillment, compliance, and revenue optimization—to support scalable growth and frictionless digital purchasing experiences for Midi’s growing suite of prescription and non-prescription wellness products.

The ideal candidate blends deep eCommerce operational expertise with a strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements, consumer behavior in healthcare, and omnichannel business models.  The role is a Sr. Director or VP level, depending on candidate qualifications and experience.

This leader will inherit a strong foundation and lead the function through a phase of operational maturity and growth—scaling systems, processes, and team capacity to support rapid expansion. The ideal candidate has experience managing complex operations and end-to-end supply chain for a dynamic business, particularly in fast-paced, late-stage, or public environments. They’ll be a masterful cross-functional partner to executives and department heads, a builder of high-performing teams, and a metrics-driven operator who can execute at scale.

What you will do:
  • Develop and execute a multi-year eCommerce operations roadmap aligned with the company’s growth goals and Operating Plan;
  • Lead cross-functional ecommerce operational planning in strong partnership with Marketing, Business Operations, Finance, Product, Legal/Compliance, Clinical, and Customer Service teams;
  • Identify emerging health & wellness ecommerce market opportunities;
  • Create a robust & resilient end-to-end supply chain system, including selecting new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and building & maintaining vendor relationships;
  • Skilled in vendor management and contract negotiation;
  • Ensure all ecommerce processes comply with all necessary laws and regulations;
  • Lead KPI development for all ecommerce operational metrics including conversion, cart abandonment, fulfillment SLAs, return rates, cost-to-serve, and more;
  • Use analytics to drive continuous improvement of operational processes and customer experience;
  • Provide regular reporting and strategic insights to executive leadership;
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing ecommerce operations team;
  • Drive a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and cross-department collaboration.
What you will need to succeed:
  • 10+ years of experience in ecommerce operations, including experience in supply chain, supplier selection, vendor management, fulfillment, shipping, distribution, and logistics, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity; prior experience in healthcare products or pharmaceuticals a plus;
  • Proven success in creating robust & resilient end-to-end supply chain system, including selecting new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and building & maintaining vendor relationships;
  • Demonstrated ability to create financial forecasts, demand planning, and inventory forecast models;
  • Strong business acumen; MBA or equivalent a plus;
  • Analytical mindset: use data to drive operational and strategic decisions;
  • Deep expertise in strategy married with a “roll up your sleeves” mentality;
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills—you know how to influence, collaborate, and build trust with C-level leaders and cross-functional partners; experience working in a matrixed environment with cross-functional teams;
  • Experience overseeing eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, custom platforms);
  • Expertise in operational workflows, including order management, supply chain, and fulfillment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Exceptionally strong project management skills, including with complex, matrixed projects involving internal and external stakeholders;
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic, high-growth environment;
  • Occasional domestic travel (<10%) may be required.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
