About the Role
We're looking for a bold, systems-driven leader to scale and elevate the core of our service: our coaching team. As Head of Coaching Operations, you’ll build the engine that enables hundreds of coaches to deliver consistent, high-quality, life-changing experiences to kids every week. From recruitment to performance to quality assurance, you’ll architect the systems, culture, and metrics that keep us running at scale.

The role involves overseeing coach performance, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving results through a performance-focused approach

This position will require being on-site 5 days a week and will provide support to coaches virtually

What Success Looks Like

  • Recruitment Engine: A high-performing coach hiring funnel that consistently attracts and converts top-tier talent across the country
  • Quality at Scale: Coaching sessions that meet (or exceed) our gold standard, backed by robust QA systems and real-time feedback loops
  • Performance Insights: Clean, actionable data on coach performance, youth outcomes, and program effectiveness shared in monthly ops reviews
  • Seamless Systems: A tech-enabled coaching infrastructure that reduces friction, increases visibility, and empowers coaches to thrive
  • Culture of Excellence: A connected, motivated community of coaches who feel supported, inspired, and part of something bigger

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach Recruitment & Onboarding: Design and lead a scalable hiring pipeline to grow the coaching team with speed and quality
  • Quality Assurance & Support: Implement frameworks that monitor session quality, coach engagement, and youth impact, continuously raising the bar
  • Performance Analytics: Define key metrics, build dashboards, and run reviews to ensure coaching impact is measurable and improving
  • Team Enablement: Partner with Program and Product teams to equip coaches with best-in-class training, tools, and feedback systems
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with Program and CX to streamline workflows, fix operational bottlenecks, and boost efficiency
  • Community Leadership: Foster a strong coach culture through internal comms, recognition programs, and peer learning initiatives

You’re a Great Fit If You...

  • Have scaled operational systems in high-growth environments
  • Know what great service delivery looks like and how to operationalize it
  • Are both people- and process-minded, you can coach, but also build systems that scale coaching
  • Are fluent in KPIs, dashboards, and using data to drive decisions
  • Care deeply about youth mental health and want to build something that lasts

Essential Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education or sociology (ideally required, but not mandatory)
  • 5+ years leading operations or service delivery teams in fast-paced environments
  • Proven success in building and scaling people systems across distributed teams
  • Hands-on experience with performance metrics, QA frameworks, and coaching infrastructure
  • Background in youth services, education, or mental health strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership instincts, someone who builds high-performing teams and makes systems hum

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity in a mission-driven company
  • Healthcare coverage, flexible time off, and generous parental leave
  • Budget for professional development, conferences, and training
  • A rare chance to build the operational foundation of a category-defining company—and change lives doing it

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
