Location:

Hybrid, working onsite at our Santa Clara, Ca headquarters 3-5 days per week.

The Role: Hardware Systems Engineering, Director

What You Will Do:

Execute the strategy and roadmap for AI system hardware in sync with company objectives

Drive the development, integration, bring-up, and ongoing support of d-Matrix AI inference servers and accelerator cards

Lead the product lifecycle from concept through production, including Engineering Validation Test (EVT), Design Validation Test (DVT), and Production Validation Test (PVT) phases

Lead and grow high-performing hardware engineering team, partnering closely with Product, Architecture, Runtime Software, and Silicon Validation

Hire and develop top talent while continuously assessing and evolving the team’s skills to meet future demands

Foster a culture of performance, learning, and ownership through strong people leadership and development

What You Will Bring:

BS Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering 20+ years of technical and people leadership experience, including 5 years driving AI hardware initiatives in a high-impact environment or MS Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering 15+ years of technical and people leadership experience, including 5 years driving AI hardware initiatives in a high-impact environment. Must demonstrate technical competence to manage both Electrical (SI+PI) and Mechanical (Structural+Thermal) teams

Must demonstrate technical competence in both Advanced Packaging (Interposers/Substrates) and Advanced Systems (Boards/Chassis)

Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to plan and re-plan dynamically and communicate status across all functions

Excellent communicator with strong documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated success leading systems design and NPI of complex hardware systems

Experience with APAC ODM/OEM/CM vendors is a plus

Must comprehend role of BMC, NOR Flash and FPGA within modern systems

Familiarity with PCIe cards, ASICs on HDI PCB modules, and 1RU boards is a big plus

Familiarity with liquid cooling solutions, networking, optics and security is a plus

Knowledge of server architectures (x86, ARM, GPU etc) and cloud-scale AI is a plus

Driving product development with ODMs and large-scale cloud/data center rollouts is a plus

Proven ability to lead and develop top-tier team — recruiting and mentoring talent.
