Full-cycle technical recruiter partnering with hiring managers to define roles, source and engage passive candidates, manage candidate relationships and pipeline, deliver exceptional candidate experiences, and close high-impact hires for an early-stage micromanufacturing company.

Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital—but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler™ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device—made possible only through the Matter Compiler™ technology platform—that we will be unveiling to the world soon.

Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.
About The Role:

This isn’t just a recruiting role—it’s an opportunity to help build the company that’s redefining an entire industry.

We’re looking for a recruiter who is outstanding at the fundamentals—finding extraordinary talent, earning the attention of passive candidates, creating an exceptional candidate experience, and consistently closing high-impact hires. Beyond that, we’re looking for someone who thrives in the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage company and is excited to build alongside some of the brightest engineers, scientists, and business leaders in the industry.

You’ll partner directly with hiring managers as a trusted advisor, helping shape hiring strategies, challenge assumptions, and influence decisions—not simply fill open roles. From defining the ideal candidate profile to sourcing, interviewing, and creating a thoughtful candidate experience, you’ll own the search end to end while helping build the teams that will shape the future of Atomic Machines.

If you’re energized by solving difficult hiring problems, working with brilliant people, and having a direct impact on a company that’s disrupting an entire industry, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do:
  • Read job descriptions and quickly identify, source, and engage the most relevant candidates in the market.
  • Write compelling outreach messages that generate responses from passive candidates and build genuine interest in Atomic Machines.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience by keeping candidates informed, gathering and sharing feedback, and ensuring every interaction reflects the company positively.
  • Maintain regular communication with hiring managers on pipeline health, progress, and search challenges.
  • Proactively identify when role requirements or candidate profiles need to evolve based on market realities and recommend adjustments.
  • Drive referrals by engaging employees and partnering with hiring managers as active sourcing contributors.
  • Apply a consistently high hiring bar using first-principles thinking and role-specific requirements rather than relying on pedigree or brand-name experience.
What You’ll Need:
  • Prior experience recruiting for technical roles.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and engaging passive candidates through targeted, personalized outreach.
  • Strong written communication skills with a track record of generating candidate responses.
  • Experience managing candidate relationships with proactive, transparent communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Sound judgment to recognize when a search strategy is not working and confidence to recommend course corrections.
  • Proven ability to partner closely with hiring managers on pipeline strategy, referrals, and candidate calibration.
  • A first-principles approach to candidate evaluation, focused on role requirements rather than résumé prestige.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ability to work onsite in Emeryville or Santa Clara three days per week.

This role may be hired at the L3-L6 level depending on years of experience and expected impact. We are open to exceptional recruiters at different stages of their careers—from high-potential recruiters ready to accelerate their growth to seasoned recruiters who can immediately operate as strategic hiring partners.

The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
