As a Hardware EPM for Block Hardware, you will drive complex hardware engineering design, development, NPI build, validation, and certification activities. Hardware EPMs have the technical knowledge that enables them to influence and drive cross-functional team projects from successful development to launch and throughout the product lifecycle. You will report to the Lead of Hardware Engineering Program Management and be a part of the Engineering Program Management and Coordination team that leads hardware and embedded software execution for all Block Hardware products.
Qualifications
You Will:
  • Create and maintain a hardware development plan, schedule and budget for a complex consumer electronics hardware product in partnership with engineering managers, technical leads and individual contributors.
  • Work with Electrical Engineering, Product Design, Product Management, Software Engineering Program Management, Operations Program Management and other key program teams to coordinate critical cross-functional work and convergence dates.
  • Partner with Global Supply Management and Business Operations teams to establish and manage 3rd party vendor relationships.
  • Identify key technical risk areas and develop actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate key developments, updates, and problems to teams and stakeholders (technical and non-technical)
  • Drive certification activities in partnership with regulatory and certification experts.
  • Discern and implement process improvements that facilitate self-organization and enable our engineers to do their best work.

You Have:
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • BS degree in ME/EE/CE or related field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • Familiarity with JDM and CM development models and experience managing complex NPI builds
  • Experience with the common challenges and interdependencies in embedded systems and the cross-functional development of custom hardware.
  • The ability to understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and to remain flexible in the face of uncertainty.
  • Demonstrated experience managing trade-offs given specific constraints.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills; ability to inspire team members.
  • Proactive attitude with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones and travel internationally to Block offices and manufacturing locations.

The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
