As a 3D Hard Surface Outsource Manager, you'll manage various aspects of asset development, both technically and creatively, for our external hard surface development process. You'll work alongside our current Hard Surface Outsource Manager, providing guidance and feedback to our external partners to deliver top class hard surface content that hits artistic and technical goals and supports our gameplay-first focus. In this role, there will be heavy collaboration with multiple departments, especially concept and rigging, as well as many opportunities to provide paintovers, 3d model, and texture edits on externally submitted assets. Responsibilities
- Work closely with the outsource management team to provide helpful and timely feedback to our wide range of talented external partners.
- Provide direct feedback to external artists in Shotgrid, supporting both our technical and artistic goals, as well as specific gameplay requirements.
- Maintain strong organization and communication, closely following existing documentation and requirements, reviewing, providing feedback, and approving submissions in a timely fashion.
- Provide 3d edits or 2d paintovers when required, in addition to providing written feedback for assets or in briefs if external partners are consistently missing targets.
- Intake and hookup delivered external content into the engine, following guidelines set by the Hard Surface Art Lead and Technical Art Director.
- Continuously work with our hard surface team to improve any bottlenecks or breakdowns in communication.
Requirements
- 4+ years in game development working on hard surface assets.
- 1+ year working with external developers by either providing feedback or ingesting external hard surface content.
- Strong artistic experience with modeling/UVs in Maya, baking, and painting in external packages like Substance Painter and Marmoset Toolbag.
- Experience working with source control software Perforce.
- Experience providing written feedback or creating basic guides for other artists, including preparing references and paintovers of existing concepts.
- Knowledge of real world weapons and multiplayer first person shooters.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to take guidance and feedback from peers, as well as art leads and directors.

Compensation: We believe that a team that builds together wins together. Because of that, our compensation packages consist of competitive industry standard base salaries, an annual bonus, and royalties. For this specific role, the base salary range is $100,000 to $145,000, with the final salary offered dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
