About the role

We're hiring a high-visibility strategy and operations leader to join Crunchyroll's Go-To-Market & Planning organization. Reporting to the VP, GTM & Planning, you'll partner closely with regional, campaign, and LOB leaders.

As GTM Strategy & Operations Director, you'll sit at the center of Crunchyroll's Go-To-Market organization, shaping how GTM works. You'll define the operating model, planning rhythms, communication flow, and decision frameworks that help teams worldwide execute launches and campaigns smoothly and effectively.

You will focus on running GTM at scale, not managing individual programs, but building the system that makes them work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the VP, GTM & Planning to define and run the go-to-market strategy with clear priorities, metrics, and alignment across regions, products, content, and BD teams
  • Advise senior leaders on GTM priorities and operational decisions with clear insights and recommendations
  • Design and improve how GTM teams plan, make decisions, communicate, and work together
  • Turn GTM strategy into roadmaps, plans, and OKRs; lead biannual planning across regions, products, and channels
  • Align regional, campaign, and LOB teams on shared GTM goals and initiatives
  • Oversee planning, reporting, and analysis to track progress, spot gaps, and improve execution
  • Run weekly GTM leadership meetings, offsites, and planning sessions focused on decisions and follow-through
  • Support cross-functional initiatives where GTM is central (market entries, launches, partner initiatives, channel expansion)
  • Lead cross-functional issue and crisis response so teams can act quickly during market, content, partner, or service changes
  • Improve how product, content, marketing, and BD teams plan and execute together
  • Drive ongoing improvements to GTM effectiveness, collaboration, and ways of working

We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Los Angeles office.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 12+ years of experience across GTM, marketing, product, or commercial operations in fast-growing, dynamic organizations
  • 2–3 years experience in management consulting, or as a Chief of Staff in a global organization.
  • Strategic and operational; designs and scales GTM frameworks and systems
  • Influences and aligns senior and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Clear communicator; creates executive-ready materials and simple narratives
  • Acts quickly in fast-changing environments
  • Builds, mentors, and coordinates distributed teams
  • Decisive and methodical; uses practical approaches to solve complex problems
  • Detail-oriented; identifies bottlenecks and improves processes across concurrent work
  • Collaborates effectively with product, content, marketing, BD/partnerships, and analytics
  • Self-starter; brings structure to ambiguity with a strong customer and market focus

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
