Position Overview

Lean Layer is the #1 Rated RevOps Agency on G2, and we're doubling our consulting team over the next year. Our reputation is built on excellent results, which means we need to keep hiring excellent people. We're looking for an experienced GTM Specialist who can design, build, and improve the systems and automation that power demand orchestration and outbound prospecting for our clients.

Clients come to us for help building their GTM infrastructure, fixing lead management processes, connecting disconnected tools, and automating work that sales and marketing teams are still doing manually. You'll work closely with our RevOps Consultants to understand what clients need, recommend the right approach, and build the solution.

This role is consultative and hands-on. You'll help clients think through their processes, data, technology, and automation, balancing what they need today with what will scale. You'll be expected to challenge existing approaches, make recommendations, and personally implement the solutions.

The ideal candidate believes in keeping things simple and not over engineering, but also loves to nerd out on the latest tech and knows which one a client actually needs.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate:

  • Has built demand orchestration and outbound infrastructure from the ground up and can take a business problem through to a working, tested solution.

  • Understands how lead lifecycle, scoring, routing, buying signals, enrichment, and outbound systems fit together.

  • Has strong technical experience across Salesforce, HubSpot, Clay, and modern GTM automation tools.

  • Thinks in systems: data in, logic applied, action out, result measured.

  • Understands the daily reality of marketing, SDR, and AE teams and builds for adoption, not just functionality.

  • Loves replacing repetitive work with automation and AI where it makes sense.

  • Can advise clients on technology choices, processes, and how to improve their existing systems.

  • Is comfortable working across multiple client projects and technology environments.

You'll be a strong fit if you've built things like:

  • A Clay workflow that discovers, enriches, scores, and pushes target accounts and contacts into the CRM.

  • A lead lifecycle and routing system that automatically qualifies, assigns, and tracks leads through sales handoff.

  • An outbound system connecting Clay, sales engagement platforms, buying signals, and Salesforce or HubSpot.

  • Automated workflows that turn intent data, website visits, or job changes into actions for sales teams.

  • AI agents that research accounts, enrich contacts, or qualify leads before passing them to sales.

  • Custom integrations between platforms that don't have native connectors.

Key Responsibilities

GTM Infrastructure & Automation

  • Design and implement lead lifecycle, scoring, routing, qualification, and sales handoff processes.

  • Build outbound and prospecting infrastructure, including data sourcing, enrichment, and CRM integrations.

  • Implement and connect sales engagement platforms, prospecting tools, and buying signal providers.

  • Build workflows that automate lead and account qualification, prospecting, routing, and follow-up.

  • Use AI agents and automation to replace repetitive sales and marketing work.

  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot integrations, and improve data quality and reliability.

Client Consulting & Delivery

  • Work directly with clients to understand their GTM processes, technology, and business requirements.

  • Assess existing systems, identify problems, and recommend practical solutions that fit their needs and budget.

  • Own technical implementations from design through configuration, testing, launch, and documentation.

  • Work alongside Lean Layer's RevOps Consultants and other specialists across multiple client engagements.

  • Train client teams to operate and maintain the systems you build.

Building the Specialty

  • Help develop Lean Layer's implementation approaches, templates, and best practices for Demand Orchestration & Outbound.

  • Share technical expertise and emerging technology with the wider consulting team.

  • Contribute to Deep Dive workshops, courses, and practical learning content.

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in GTM Engineering, Marketing Operations, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or similar roles.

  • Proven experience building and implementing lead management, routing, enrichment, and outbound automation systems in B2B environments.

  • Strong Salesforce and HubSpot experience, including CRM configuration, workflows, and integrations.

  • Advanced Clay experience, including enrichment waterfalls, automated workflows, AI columns, and CRM integrations.

  • Experience with sales engagement platforms such as Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, or similar tools.

  • Experience with routing, enrichment, or intent platforms such as LeanData, Chili Piper, ZoomInfo, 6sense, or UserGems.

  • Comfortable building integrations using APIs, webhooks, and automation tools such as n8n, Zapier, or Make.

  • Experience building AI or LLM-based workflows for research, qualification, enrichment, or GTM automation.

  • Comfortable working directly with clients, explaining technical decisions, and managing implementations.

  • Can show us systems and automations you've personally built and explain exactly how they work.

Preferred Experience
  • B2B SaaS experience, particularly with high-growth companies.

  • Consulting or agency experience across multiple client environments.

  • Experience with outbound sending infrastructure and email deliverability.

  • Experience with modern prospecting and AI SDR tools.

  • Ability to write Python or JavaScript when no-code tools aren't enough.

  • Experience creating technical training or educational content.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
