Position Overview

Lean Layer is the #1 Rated RevOps Agency on G2, and we're doubling our consulting team over the next year. Our reputation is built on excellent results, which means we need to keep hiring excellent people. We're looking for an experienced Attribution, ROI & Performance Specialist who can design and build the systems that help clients understand where their pipeline comes from, which investments are working, and how their revenue teams are performing.

Clients come to us for help improving marketing source tracking, campaign attribution, funnel reporting, and sales performance measurement. As our Attribution, ROI & Performance Specialist, you'll work closely with our RevOps Consultants to design and implement the tracking, data connections, attribution models, and reporting systems that support these decisions.

This role is consultative and hands-on. You'll work with marketing, sales, and revenue leaders to understand what they need to measure, how their existing systems work, and what needs to change. You'll help define the right approach, then build it across CRM, marketing automation, and reporting platforms.

We're looking for someone who understands the technical side of attribution and performance measurement, enjoys working with data, and knows how to make reporting useful and reliable without overcomplicating it.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate:

  • Has built marketing attribution and GTM performance reporting systems across multiple B2B companies.

  • Understands how source tracking, UTM data, campaigns, lifecycle stages, opportunities, and revenue data connect.

  • Can identify where data and tracking problems originate and implement solutions to fix them.

  • Understands different attribution approaches and can recommend the right level of complexity for each client.

  • Has strong technical skills across CRM, marketing automation, data integrations, and BI tools.

  • Can work with revenue leaders to define metrics, challenge assumptions, and build reporting that answers their questions.

  • Is comfortable moving between technical implementation and client-facing consulting.

  • Is interested in using AI and automation to improve data quality, reporting, and analysis.

You'll be a strong fit if you've built things like:

  • A source tracking system that captures UTMs, preserves original lead source, and carries source information through to opportunity creation.

  • A campaign tracking setup that connects HubSpot or Marketo campaigns to Salesforce opportunities.

  • An attribution model that measures sourced and influenced pipeline across multiple marketing activities.

  • Automated reporting that connects marketing spend, CRM data, and revenue to measure CAC, ROAS, and funnel conversion.

  • Sales performance scorecards that give managers reliable activity, conversion, and pipeline metrics.

  • A reporting system that replaces manual spreadsheets and data reconciliation with automated reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Attribution, ROI & Performance

  • Design and implement marketing source tracking, UTM capture, campaign tracking, and attribution models.

  • Build integrations between CRM, marketing automation, advertising, sales, and reporting platforms.

  • Configure CRM and campaign data capture to support accurate attribution.

  • Build marketing ROI, funnel conversion, pipeline contribution, and sales performance reporting.

  • Define, calculate, and validate key GTM metrics, including sourced and influenced pipeline and conversion rates.

  • Identify and resolve issues with data capture, inconsistent definitions, and reporting accuracy.

  • Use automation and AI to improve data quality, reporting, and analysis where practical.

Client Consulting & Delivery

  • Work directly with clients to understand their reporting requirements, data sources, and current systems.

  • Assess existing tracking and reporting, recommend practical improvements, and help clients make measurement decisions.

  • Own implementations from initial design through configuration, testing, validation, and documentation.

  • Work alongside Lean Layer's RevOps Consultants and other technical specialists across multiple client engagements.

  • Train client teams to understand and maintain the reporting systems you build.

Building the Specialty

  • Help develop Lean Layer's implementation approaches, templates, and best practices for Attribution, ROI & Performance.

  • Share technical expertise and emerging technology with the broader consulting team.

  • Contribute to Deep Dive workshops, courses, and practical learning content.

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Marketing Operations, Revenue Operations, GTM Analytics, Business Intelligence, or similar roles.

  • Proven experience implementing marketing attribution, source tracking, campaign reporting, and GTM performance measurement in B2B environments.

  • Strong Salesforce and HubSpot experience, including CRM reporting, campaigns, custom fields, workflows, and integrations.

  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Marketo, HubSpot, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement.

  • Experience building first-touch, last-touch, and multi-touch attribution models.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience connecting and validating data across multiple systems.

  • Experience building reporting in tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

  • Strong understanding of funnel conversion, pipeline attribution, CAC, ROAS, and sales performance metrics.

  • Comfortable building and troubleshooting integrations across CRM, marketing, and reporting systems.

  • Comfortable working directly with clients and explaining technical decisions.

  • Can show us attribution models, reporting systems, and dashboards you've personally built and explain how they work.

Preferred Experience
  • B2B SaaS experience, particularly with high-growth companies.

  • Consulting or agency experience across multiple client environments.

  • Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, or similar data tools.

  • Experience integrating conversation intelligence and sales activity data.

  • Experience using AI for data validation, reporting automation, or analysis.

  • Ability to write Python or JavaScript when required.

  • Experience creating technical training or educational content.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
