Are you driven by turning data into strategy and strategy into impact? We’re looking for a Strategy and Insights Lead to join us at Thinkific who will play a key role in providing analytics, reporting and insights across the go-to-market (GTM) organization. In this role, you will partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leadership to deliver actionable insights that improve decision-making, optimize performance, and drive revenue growth.

You will report to and work closely with the VP of GTM Strategy and Operations to build reports, analyze trends, and support strategic projects with data-driven recommendations. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about analytics and storytelling with data in a SaaS GTM context.

The GTM Strategy & Operations team at Thinkific plays a critical role in enabling our Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success functions to operate and scale efficiently while enabling revenue growth. Here’s how you’ll help accomplish this:

  • Build, maintain, and deliver dashboards and reports to track GTM performance metrics (e.g., pipeline health, conversion rates, customer retention, campaign ROI).
  • Translate raw data into meaningful insights and present findings to GTM leadership in a clear, actionable way.
  • Partner with Finance and Data teams to ensure alignment of GTM metrics with broader company reporting: validate assumptions, ensure consistency, and improve reporting methodologies.
  • Support forecasting and planning processes by providing historical trend analysis and scenario modeling
  • Collaborate with GTM Strategy and Operations leadership to provide inputs for quarterly and annual planning cycles and contribute to discussions with data-backed recommendations.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on key business questions (e.g., pipeline performance, customer journey analytics, marketing campaign effectiveness, account health).
  • Provide ad-hoc analytic support for Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leadership.
  • Identify performance trends and surface insights that inform strategy and resource allocation.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leaders to understand business challenges and provide analytical support.
  • Provide analytics support for GTM initiatives such as new market entry, pricing changes, or customer segmentation projects.
  • Track initiative impact and measure success against defined KPIs.

The person we have in mind likely has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ of experience in a GTM analytics or business analyst role, ideally within a SaaS company. Experience in Consulting or Investment Banking is also a plus.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets for analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) to create compelling dashboards and reports.
  • Familiarity with CRM data (preferably Salesforce) and GTM performance metrics.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through data storytelling.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple requests and deadlines.
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business.

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Knowledge of SaaS KPIs such as ARR, LTV, CAC, churn, and net retention.
  • Experience supporting GTM planning, revenue and sales forecasting, or segmentation initiatives.

We’re committed to fair and transparent pay that reflects both where you are and where you can grow to. This role has a salary range of $109,300 - $136,600 - $163,900 in the United States, designed to capture the full journey from developing skills to excelling in the position. Most new hires start between the minimum and midpoint, which aligns with being fully capable in the role. Salaries above the midpoint are typically reserved for team members who have demonstrated strong, consistent performance, deep expertise, and a significant positive impact within the role.

For high-demand or hard-to-fill positions like this one, we may hire above midpoint for candidates who bring exceptional experience, skills, or impact potential.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
